I am taught that Holy Spirit baptism is required to go to heaven. It is more than that. Holy Spirit baptism is what makes us Sons of God, members of Christ's body and members of the family of God, a highly privileged and empowered position. This means that we are "in christ" and that the power that raised Jesus from the dead, resides within us. We see in Romans 8 that if we are led by the Spirit, we are sons of God and that the Holy Spirtit is the Spirit of adoption. He is the one that adopts us into the family of God.

In John 3:3-7 we see the main scriptural authority.
3In reply Jesus declared, “I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.” 4“How can a man be born when he is old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb to be born!”5Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. 6Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. 7You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ (John 3:3-7)

If you are truly born again, you would definitely make heaven. The only requirement for making heaven is 100% Holiness. Its just its almost impossible without the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit helps us to be better christians. He helps us kill the flesh, He helps us pray better, He helps our weakness, ..etc Romans 8:26

My roadmap to spirituality in metaphor of the Hebrew Temple...

    1. Outer Gates - Justification: Everything begins with faith
    2. Alter - Salvation: Accepting Jesus in our hearts
    3. Laver - Sanctification: Conforming to a righteous believers standard
--- Inner Temple: The work of grace inside our hearts
    4. Candlestick - Spiritual E (love, motivation) / c2 (faith, hope , charity, joy)
    5. Table of Shewbread - The Word of God
    6. Alter of Golden Incense - Prayer and praise
--The veil: The eye of the needle (Matthew 19:24)
    7. The Ark of the Covenant - The Baptism in the Holy Ghost: The Shekinah Glory!

Notice if you please the life of King Uzziah, who was so arrogant that Isaiah did not see the Lord until King Uzziah was out of the way...

In the year that King Uzziah died I saw also the LORD sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. - Isaiah 6:1

And notice that when King Uzziah went into the temple he made it as far as the Alter of Golden Incense before he was turned away.

But when he (Uzziah) was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the LORD his God, and went into the temple of the LORD to burn incense upon the altar of incense. And Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him fourscore priests of the LORD, that were valiant men: And they withstood Uzziah the king, and said unto him, It appertaineth not unto thee, Uzziah, to burn incense unto the LORD, but to the priests the sons of Aaron, that are consecrated to burn incense: go out of the sanctuary; for thou hast trespassed; neither shall it be for thine honour from the LORD God. Then Uzziah was wroth, and had a censer in his hand to burn incense: and while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the LORD, from beside the incense altar. And Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked upon him, and, behold, he was leprous in his forehead, and they thrust him out from thence; yea, himself hasted also to go out, because the LORD had smitten him. And Uzziah the king was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house, being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of the LORD: and Jotham his son was over the king's house, judging the people of the land.- 2 Chronicles 26:16-20

So we cannot expect to enter into the place of Shekinah Glory until the Uzziah's have been done away with.

So to answer the question "Do we need the Holy Spirit to enter heaven" I would say that we need the Holy Spirit to be profitable in this world. There are times in every believers life where the Holy Spirit seems a million miles away. When this is the case we ride solely on our faith.

you must be indwelt by the Holy Spirit to get into heaven. But that does not equal speaking in tongues, etc.

Martin Luther use to say that "In the name of God begins all mischief."

The Holy Spirit is a clean spirit... Faith, hope, charity, joy, purity, cleanliness... Pure virtue! There is no dirt or darkness about the great Spirit of God! In his presence you will feel clean and in white garments! You cannot claim to have the Holy Spirit without these virtues flowing through you! Do the world a favor and do not claim the infilling of the Holy Spirit when you are yet in your carnal flesh!
