Discussion Do Proverbs Contain Guidelines or Promises

I was wondering what you thought about Proverbs? Do they contain promises from God, or are they just guidelines? I believe they are promises. 2 Timothy 3:16 (NASB) 16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;

Why am I wrong or why am I right?

In ancient times various cultures had collections of proverbs representing the accumulated wisdom of that culture. Here is a Hindu proverb:

"Pray to Krishna but row away from the rocks."

Here is another favourite:

Proverbs 21:9 -- "Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife."
