I had gone to church to recieve another
position on the Blessed Resurrection
other than the traditional Friday to Sunday
doctrine. The evidence was
compelling, and I had a difficult time
trying to explain what I had learned.
Anyway, I was looking for something else
online, and I stumbled onto this article
that explains the position well. There is a
problem with tradition, however, in that
one is caught in a bind when he seeks the
truth of a matter. Jesus and Paul both
challenged the authority of "tradition,"
rather urging men to return to the truth.

However, in our day, searching for truth
can be a difficult matter, considering that
falsehood abounds, and one almost prefers
to remain in tradition only because he
knows that when he ventures outside of it,
he enters into unfamiliar territory, and
therefore becomes vulnerable to deception.
And the New Testament does warn us that in
the last days, doctrinal deception will
certainly be a great concern to the elect.
Anyways, I'm not claiming the author's view
in the article to be truth, but I do
say it piques my curisoity in that it does
offer a consistency between the Old and New
Testaments. I'd assume that Jesus' claim as
the Lord of the Sabbath would be
strengthened if He was risen on the Sabbath
(Saturday) because just as He healed on the
Sabbath (which was clearly against the
"tradition" of the Rabbinical teachings of
the Pharisees), so would He would
demonstrate that He Himself is our "Sabbath
rest" by being raised on that day (goes in
line with the whole "types and shadows"
premise). What a sticker to the Pharisees!
What better way to prove that you're the
Lord of the Sabbath, having authority over
it, than to raise yourself from the dead on
it! That would prove that He was indeed the
Son of God, in that He defies the authority
of the Pharisees, showing that His
authority is greater, for He is the Holy
One of Israel! If these things
be true, however, it would place emphasis
that the believer should become more
familiar with his/her Old Testament and the
Moedim (the Festivals of the Jews). This
article seems to be written by a Messianic
Jew, but I always am wary about their
claims because it seems alot of them are
more familiar with Rabbinic theology and
ideas than Christianity. Alot of times they
are hostile to Christian teaching, and I
don't take that very well, because alot of
times they come off as though they have a
monopoly on truth given their Jewish
heritage and knowledge. But I can
understand where the Gentile Church may err
at times. Here's a link to the article: http://www.tzaddikim.org/articles/easter~1.html

I personally know of NONE who hold to a Shabbat resurrection - Yeshua rose on the first day of the week, a day today called Sunday.

A Saturday resurrection is totally contrary to both Torah and Ketuvim Natzrim scriptures.

I can't say WHAT the author is all about, and as you say, there are all kinds out there. Such an idea is certainly WAY off of center for MJism.
