But that was after the earth also? And before the sun, moon or stars?Night and day were created first.
Nope. But that was after the earth also? And before the sun, moon or stars?
Only if they translate it wrong based upon pre-conceived beliefs.

Notice shamayim is also a plural as noted that the KJV which is claimed to mean heaven singular in Ge 1:1 is translated heavens in 2:1. Then "hayah" does not mean "was", but became, or falls out of a prior existence. The earth "became" desolate and waste, and darkness "became" upon the surface of the deep. And so the dinosaurs went extinct. Meteor, comet, doesn't matter. In perfect agreement with the Bible. But the 5 prior creations and 5 prior destruction's is not the subject of the Bible.
No.As for now I am just trying to confirm that the concensus view of those who believe the literal Genesis creation account that the earth was created before the rest of the universe. Is that correct?
Nope.
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Emphasis mine.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
Yes, heaven first and the earth. But heaven was the Kingdom of God? Right?
Nope.

I believe this is about creation...Creation/evolution?This is a general apologetics thread.
The earth wasn't created yet.How can the earth be without form? What does that mean?

I assume "heaven" in Genesis 1:1 refers to Second Heaven (outer space). So in the first Genesis, Heaven was the kingdom of God? And so Heaven and earth were created before the sun, moon and stars... and presumably the rest of our galaxy and all the others?
I was referring to young earth creationism primarily or any creationism where Genesis is claimed to be taken literally. In Genesis the earth is created before the sun or the stars. Thus the earth was supposedly at the center.
I assume "heaven" in Genesis 1:1 refers to Second Heaven (outer space).
It's when God shears off a layer of water from the earth, which is just a ball of water at the time, and balloons it out into space (Second Heaven), that First Heaven (the atmosphere) is created.[VERSE=Genesis 1:6,KJV]And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.[/VERSE]
Here's the chronology of Genesis 1, as I see it ...Seems more like a thread trying to understand Genesis which is taken in many ways by many people? Is that a problem?

Is there a contest I wasn't aware of to see who could make the most ridiculous post? Yours has my vote.I started to wonder if Creationists even believe in the universe since I know they argue against the Big Bang.
Don't you ever get tired of falsely accusing Bible believers of believing in geocentrism?Since there was no concept of the universe when Genesis was written I am wondering if they also deny the universe in order to retain the earth centered view of all existence.
By modern I presume you mean your opinion.Otherwise, I don't see how they can reconcile belief in Genesis with the modern view of the universe.
Dunno. Is there an account of creation as a concensus view of YECs?
Is there an account of creation as a concensus view of YECs?
Here's the chronology of Genesis 1, as I see it ...
1:1 God creates outer space and seawater in the hollow of His hand.
1:2 The earth is just water (probably plano-convex in shape: flat on the top, convex on the bottom).
1:2 The water is deep and light cannot penetrate very far down.
1:2 The Holy Spirit does some geodesic surveying, as the foundation of the earth is being laid.
1:3 God creates the electromagnetic spectrum, and probably the other three major forces of the universe: gravity, weak nuclear force and strong nuclear force. Earth goes from plano-convex to a sphere in the presence of gravity.
1:4 God pronounces the forces 'good,' and sets them in motion through space: creating the speed of light as a constant.
1:5 Earth, as a ball of water, has now made one rotation: the first day.
1:6 God calls for the atmosphere to be created. Probably by bringing oxygen, nitrogen, and trace elements out of the ball of sea water.
1:7 God shears off a layer of top water from the earth and balloons it out into space by forcing the atmosphere in between: Second Heaven is now created.
1:8 God calls this new atmosphere [Second] Heaven; earth completes its second rotation.
1:9 God calls for more elements in the ball of sea water to get together and form land, then calls the land forth from underneath. Nature obeys.
1:10 God labels this new creation "Earth" (a.k.a., Pangaea); and the water that brought it forth "Seas" (a.k.a., Panthalassa).
This is just conjecture on my part.
