This forum is only for those who believe in God's spiritual gifts
We probably differ in our definitions but trying to clarify. If you were explaining the difference(s) in divination and God's spiritual gifts to a new believer what would you say? This is what I had planned to say but open to your suggestions. This doesn't include end time Scriptures.
In Acts 16, there is an account of a girl with the spirit of divination who for several days stated that "These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation." This was accurate information stating who they were (word of knowledge) and what they would do (word of wisdom).
Some get upset when the future is stated concerning someone's life. But there are Scriptures that state ...
-"Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I now declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them." Isa 42:9
-"But when *he* is come, the Spirit of truth, he shall guide you into all the truth: for he shall not speak from himself; but whatsoever he shall hear he shall speak; and he will announce to you what is coming."
John 16:13
-"...Ananias.” And he said, “Here I am, Lord.” 11 So the Lord said to him, “Arise and go to the street called Straight, and inquire at the house of Judas for one called Saul of Tarsus, for behold, he is praying. 12 And in a vision he has seen a man named Ananias coming in and putting his hand on him, so that he might receive his sight.” "For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake." Acts 9
Scripture is clear about avoiding divination, witches, sorcerers such as Deut 18:912, Lev 19:12, Jer 27:9, II Kings 9;22, Acts 19:19.
When looking at this topic, the source of the information is the key.
-"Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite." Psa 147:5
-"Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. 7 And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people? and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto them." Isa 44
-"Who could ever wrap their minds around the riches of God, the depth of his wisdom, and the marvel of his perfect knowledge? Who could ever explain the wonder of his decisions or search out the mysterious way he carries out his plans?" Rom11
