Feeling a bit weepy I didn't get the job I wanted. It was a sweet federal GS position. I got pretty far in the hiring process. I wanted to trade my messy home-school-mommy-with-side-hustles lifestyle for something a little more sophisticated. I'm not exactly qualified for much so I got excited to get so far in hiring process. I know the Lord must have other plans for me and my family but knowing doesn't always help. :( Gonna be a "Trust and obey for there's no other way" reflection kind of days. :sweat: Requesting a bit of prayer.

I hear you. I've been let down on jobs a lot; and you are right, God has better plans, but it's still a bummer. I understand. Been there.

God be with you, Ma'am, and grant you the joy, peace, hope, and anchoring in Christ to get you through this, and may He open the right door for you at the right time. Amen.

Sorry it didn't happen for you at this time. However as children of Zion, we always walk in God's fullness , meaning better days are coming.

& yup! You know the drill! His name must be glorified regardless.

The desire to change IS there - which means you WILL. You can't stay the same if you don't want to: it's like trying to multiply three with four to get nine.

The anxiety of NOT trying will eventually override the momentary despondency. Passion conquers all. So don't think too much about it. Just brush it off and carry on. It doesn't mean a thing.

What field or agency was it for? My best friend was encouraging me to look at the Small Business Association, SBA.

Prayers from me, for sure. Meanwhile, please do not despair.

I remember similar experiences with some of my friends and it's terribly disappointing, I know. The fact that you advanced pretty far in the process says a lot, however.

For every one of the people I know personally, they thought at first "So what? Any miss is as good as a mile." Only it isn't.

That you made it through a number of the steps in the process is an important sign...and all of these people I am familiar with persevered and were rewarded with comparable jobs later on. I hope the same holds true for you and trust that it will.

Bummer. It's quite difficult when our hopes are not fulfilled. Yes Lord we pray as this door has unfortunately closed another better one will open according to your will. Show favor in another job pursuit so that HappyHope can work in one good job, instead of many side jobs. Help her to focus and trust you in you, as she deals with all the "why" 's. Give peace while she waits on you.
Again guide to the right job according to your good will. In Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 40:31a... but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength;

And it was a base secretary job. My former military service got me a conference phone interview. My educational background, on the other hand, isn't exactly marketable for my, uh, gifts, lol. Not this side of heaven anyway. Bahaha. Don’t ask. Thanks again for the info.

Yeah I think the (Covid) Disaster Relief Specialist is where the big boom is. Education does really help you which is why my friend has been mentioning it to me, I got the education but not things like good typing speed etc. But its a government job that you can do at home if you get in, but probably will only last as long as this pandemic is screwing up things.

Maybe you should try for that job even if its turns out to be temporary? If you get a GS position, it looks easier to get hired for other GS positions across the country. There are free online typing programs if it helps. Knowing how to set up video conferences and phone conferences are valued skills right now. That was one of my interview questions.

When one door closes, another opens and it only means you are meant to be in another job, another place, whether temporarily or permanently, God knows where you are needed the most, don't give up, keep trying. God bless you with answers to get into the right place, the right field, the right career, where you will be the happiest and help the most, In Jesus Name, Amen
