I was out shopping for plants & seeds today & I happened to look at the clematis.

Did you know there is a clematis named John Paul 2?

Being the admirer of him that I am, I bought one.

It is a vining plant with off white petals & a red center, very pretty.

I thought you all might be interested. :priest:

To Anise:

DH is internet shorthand for "Dear Husband" or "Darling Husband." (or, if you are having "one of those days," it can even be "Doofus Husband," LOL)

DD=Darling Daughter
DS=Dear Son
MIL=Mother in Law
FIL=Father in Law

and so on!

To all Green Thumbs:

Is Clematis a nice smelling flower?

Peace be with you,

I'm a horrible gardener, but if I can get ANY flowers to grow, I'm partial to the "good-smelly" ones: roses, carnations, sweet peas, honeysuckle, star jasmine, wistaria... And I'm also fond of "cute" flowers, too, like snapdragons and pansies.

Right now, though, I've been giving pep talks to my herbs.

Peace be with you,

I like the smelly-good ones too. The ones you mentioned, and also peonies, daffodils, lily of the valley, sweet bay magnolia (okay, that's a tree, but you can't beat the smell), etc.

I'll have my herbs give yours a pep talk. *fingers crossed* They are doing really well right now, even with all the rain we've gotten...

Peace and sunny, happy, just enough rain in their pots herb-growing vibes to you! :p

I'm no green thumb, seeing as how so many of my roses end up with black spot! But I don't think clematis usually have much odor. I especially like the odor of oriental lilies. I can clip one flower and put it in a bud vase and it will perfume a room. Not all lilies are so fragrant though. I like lilac fragrance too!

Good luck with the herbs!
