The Jews indirectly killed Jesus by using the Romans. And in 70ad, God used those same Romans to bring vengeance and wrath upon their own heads.[Matthew 27:25]

    Mat 23:30
“and say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.'
    Luk 11:50
“that the blood of all the prophets which was shed from the foundation of the world may be required of this generation,
    John 18:31
Pilate, therefore, said to them, 'Take ye him -- ye -- and according to your law judge him;' the Jews, therefore, said to him, 'It is not lawful to us to put any one to death;'
    Mat 27:25
and all the people answering said, 'His blood is upon us, and upon our children!'

    Act 7:52
    Which of the prophets did not your fathers persecute? and they killed them that showed before of the coming of the Righteous One; of whom ye have now become betrayers and murderers;

    1Th 2:14
For you, brethren, became imitators of the churches of God which are in Judea in Christ Jesus. For you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen, just as they did from the Judeans,
    1Th 2:15
who killed both the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they do not please God and are contrary to all men,
    1Th 2:16
forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved, so as always to fill up the measure of their sins; but wrath has come upon them to the uttermost.

    Jas 5:6
Ye condemned, ye murdered the Righteous one; he doth not resist you.

An interesting thread on that here for those interested:

Not Lawful for the Jews to Kill...?

    Lazarus Short said:
I was reading in the Gospel of John this morning, and came up short on this:

Pilate, therefore, said to them, 'Take ye him -- ye -- and according to your law judge him;' the Jews, therefore, said to him, 'It is not lawful to us to put any one to death;'
    -John 18:31, YLT

It wasn't the YLT I was reading, but chose it to quote...but what I thought was, How about that, the Jews were lying through their teeth, as they had picked up stones to stone Jesus two or three times previously, and it is recorded in other Gospels too. So can anyone tell me - were they just being politically correct and/or were they actually outwardly obeying Roman Law but killing on the side, or were they flat-out lying to Pilate? I know I'm almost answering my own question, but I'm looking for some deeper insights here...

Who can give me some insight...?

You seem to overlooked Acts 4:27.

    Acts 4:27
“For truly against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together

    So everyone is guilty.

And it was under the direction of the Father...

    Isaiah 53:10
    Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him;
He has put Him to grief.
When You make His soul an offering for sin,
He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days,
And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand.

    Yes.
But remember, just as vengeance and wrath came upon Jerusalem and the Temple in 70 ad, so also the same ocurred about 400 yrs later with the destruction of Rome.
So God took care of both the Jewish and Roman rulerships who were persecuting the Christians.

"DAYS OF VENGEANCE" Isaiah 61:2 and Luke 21:22 Revelation

    Isaiah 61:2
To proclaim the year of the good pleasure of Yahweh,
And the day of vengeance<5359> of our 'Elohiym, To comfort all mourners.

    Luke 4:
17 the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. Unrolling it, He found the place where it was written:
21 and He began by saying,
“Today this Scripture is fulfilled<4137> in your hearing.”

    Luke 21:
22 That days of vengeance<1557> these are, of the to be fulfilled<4130> all the having been written
23 “But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days!
For there will be great Distress in the land and Wrath upon this people.

The Seven Hills the Whore Sits on

    Matthew 23
37 - “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather<1996> your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!
38 Behold! the House of ye is being left desolate/a wilderness<2048>

Note the Temple Menorah being taken:

Then some 400 years later, God took down the Roman Empire and the invaders took off with the Menorah.
I really didn't know Rome had held onto it that long.

This picture shows a Menorah being taken during the sacking of Rome.

This prophecy indicates the distinction between the Jews and the rest of Israel.

    Ezekiel 5:3-4

"Thou shalt also take thereof a few in number, and bind them in thy skirts.
Then take of them again, and cast them into the midst of the fire, and burn them in the fire; for thereof shall a fire come forth into all the house of Israel."

Paul says they remain under God's wrath until the end of the world.

“Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost [the end].” (1 Thessalonians 2:16)

Amazing how a comment on who killed Yeshua can lead to all sorts of justification of what has gone on.

But it cannot be escaped: both Joel 3 and Matthew 25 are pretty clear that the nations/gentiles/ethnos/goyim will be judged on how they treated the Hebrew people. And judged by Yeshua Himself right at the spot He gave the Olivet discourse

The Jews [rulership] were judged for the way they treated Christ and the Christians in 70 ad and will continue to be under judgement until they accept Christ [that also includes the Muslims, whom God is using to keep them "humble"].

Matthew 24 Mount of Olives and Titus's 10th Legion on Mt Olives 70ad

    Matthew 24
1 And Jesus coming out, departed from the Temple.
3 Yet of Him sitting on the Mount of the Olives, the Disciples came toward to Him according to own saying.............
6 “Yet ye shall be being about to be hearing battles and hearings of battles...but not as yet the End<5056>

    Mark 13
1 And He going forth out of the Temple,
3 And of sitting of Him into the Mount of the Olives overlooking the Temple,
7 “Yet whenever ye should be hearing battles and hearings of battles, .....but not as yet the End<5056>

    Luke 21
5 and of some saying concerning the Temple,
9 “Yet whenever ye should be hearing battles and tumults<181>, no may be being frightened<4422>, for is binding these to be becoming,
    but not immediately the End<5056>

Look at where Titus and his elite 10th legion were stationed: The Mount of Olives!!!!!

And that has what relevance to the judgement of the nations in Joel 3 and Matthew 25 that you are responding to?

Isn't it true that unbelieving Jews still do not accept Isaiah 53 as referring to Messiah? Isn't it true that in the texts of the Pseudopigrapha that Jews were writing their own predictions concerning a Messiah? These were written from about 300 BC to 300 AD (note that they were still writing about the coming of the Messiah after the one true Messiah had already come). They wanted a political Messiah, not a Suffering Servant.

Many forget about the Second Jewish Revolt, roughly 60 years after AD70 during which, some say, that as many as 500,000 (some say more) Jews were killed by the Romans.

When Palestine was divided by Britain, who gained control of this land from Turkey, 750,000 Palestinians were forced to leave their homes. Perhaps as many as 10% of these Palestinians were Christians who had to leave their homes and their businesses and their church buildings behind. Many of them were killed. Yes, Christians were killed.

Prior to WWII Jews, Arabs and Christians lived together in peace in Palestine. Many absentee Arab property owners were regularly selling property to Jews and thus the growth of Jewish population was growing, not by force.

After WWI, 10,000 displaced Jews were sent to Galveston, Texas. It was planned that many more would come there but there were objections by those who did not want this "invasion". A similar thing happened before and during the upstart of WWII. Hitler wanted the Jews to be gone from Germany and those countries he planned to invade. He asked the United States and Britain about taking the Jews. No takers. Instead 6 million of them died, along with millions of others.

Gal 3:16 But the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his Seed (it does not say, And to seeds, as of many, but as of one, "And to your Seed," which is Christ). Genesis 3:15; 21:12; 22:18, Rom. 9:6; Heb. 11:18

Christ is true Israel. The reconciliation of all of mankind has come through Christ. God Almighty chose how He would save mankind - again, ALL of mankind - and this was by the faithful and finished work of Christ on the cross. The only payment God would accept is the blood of the perfect sacrifice, Jesus Christ. This was determined before the foundation of the world. The Bible begins with Genesis 1.1 and ends with Revelation 22.21. One Book; one eternal Triune God; one People; one Reconciler; one Salvation.

We need to stop reading and interpreting the Bible like it's a smorgasbord of doctrines we can pick to prove our personal indoctrination. From the beginning, God wanted a relationship with His people. The people rejected the relationship that He wanted. He is not bound by time. Everything that God intended for His people to have in the beginning will be available again and it will be on the New Earth. No recycled stuff.

I will reveal something personal... the blindness to the Gospel I suffered for many years was only lifted when I understood how important Israel is to God.

I was raised in a Replacement Theology environment. The Divinity of Jesus was marginalized, in my upbringing, as well.

It wasn’t until I saw that Israel is a model of God’s patience and Typification of the Body Of Christ... that I understood that Israel is not the Body of Christ.

Many of Israel are part of the Body of Christ... but Israel is a model of God’s mercy and compassion.

Now, allow me to be clear...

Israel has suffered more persecution at the hands of Satan than any other nation.

In Revelation 12 we see Satan Literally positioned between Israel’s legs to Eat her Child, as soon as He is born.

Satan HATES Israel, because God groomed her to bare His only begotten Son.

Israel is Spiritually, both God’s Mother and Bride. God has set up a Trojan Horse within Sheol, and now on this earth (again) to attract to full attention of Satan. One word... Islam.

The Anti Christ will be bent on destroying and deceiving Israel to the fullest.

If God would intimately use a Nation to bare His Son, then throw them to disgrace for the blindness and hardening she has partially developed due to The Devils unrelenting terrors upon her... we have no hope as the BOC.

1 John 3:8 shows what God did when He walked the earth 2000 years ago.

God has been systematically dismantling the Power of the Devil since Eden. (Protoevangilium).

God has set up all things to free as many as possible from the grasp of THE ACCUSER.

Israel is real and to follow their journey with God that Begins in Genesis and is foretold all the way through to Revelation... then say... they’re stiffnecked, undeserving of God’s Grace and Godless is true Hubris.

If stubborn Israel has no hope, then all of humanity is damned.

The world’s eyes are even now on Israel again.

Atheists hate Israel because it is a biblical Nation and testifies to the Truth Of Scripture.

The Temple of Israel is Jesus.

Again... I emphasize... the Anti Christ will attempt to destroy and deceive Israel, and also the world... but when the Saints come marching in... as the CLOUD surrounding JESUS...

They will mourn for HIM THEY PIERCED. They (Israel) will say “Blessed is He WHO comes IN THE NAME OF THE LORD (Philippians 2:9-11).”

The Wine Press will be Trod! The wicked will be extinguished...

I'm not sure I believe we will be judged based on how we treat Jews specifically, unless there's something in the Bible that states that (entirely possible, but none I can think of off the top of my head). Jews, just like Muslims and every other non-Christian group, do NOT believe in Jesus. Contrary to what many Christians are teaching, they don't have some other special path to Heaven. They have to accept Jesus just like the rest of us. I support Israel in that I think the land was given to and belong to the Jews, but as far as giving them special treatment, I think we should show the same compassion to Muslims and everyone else as we do Jews.

    I’ll go a step further...

She’s been lorded over by Some major empires in her day...

    Egypt
    Assyria
    Babylon
    Persia
    Greece
    Rome
    Ottoman

That’s 7 empires... and now... a broken Empire that surrounds her is specifically desiring to destroy her... through the United Nations...

    Origins of the PLO
The PLO emerged in response to various compounding events that took place in the Middle East.

In 1948, Israel became an independent state, which resulted in more than 750,000 Palestinians fleeing their homeland. The subsequent 1948 war set the stage for years of tension and violence between Arabs and Israelis.

Around this time, Palestinians were spread out among several countries, lacked formal leadership and weren’t well organized. This limited their political influence and
During the Arab League Summit in 1964, Palestinians came together to create one central organization – the PLO. The PLO’s Palestine National Council (PNC) was first comprised of Palestinian civilians and helped define the group’s goals, which included the destruction of Israel. The organization’s first chairman was Ahmad Shuqayrī.

    Yasser Arafat Steps In
After the Arab-Israeli Six-Day War of 1967, in which Israel emerged victorious, the PLO began to ramp up their presence.

A group known as Fatah, led by military leader Yasser Arafat, started to infiltrate and dominate the organization. In 1969, Arafat became Chairman of the PLO’s Executive Committee, holding the title until his death in 2004.

Starting in the late 1960s, the PLO launched attacks on Israel from its bases in Jordan. In 1971, the PLO was forced to relocate from Jordan, shifting its headquarters to Lebanon.

While in Lebanon, factions within the PLO began to neglect Israeli military target attacks and instead carried out terrorism plots, including high-profile bombings and aircraft hijackings. In 1974, Arafat called for the PLO’s attacks on targets outside of Israel to stop, as part of a plan to gain global acceptance and legitimacy.

In October 1974, the Arab League recognized the PLO as the “sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people,” and granted it full membership. A month later, Arafat became the first non-state leader to address the United Nations General Assembly. ~ https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.history.com/.amp/topics/middle-east/plo

    Why I believe 1948 did not fulfill bible prophecy;

    Paul says the broken off Jews will remain under God’s wrath until the end of time;

“forbidding us to speak to the nations that they might be saved, to fill up their sins always, but the anger did come upon them—to the end!” (1 Thessalonians 2:16) YLT

    Jesus saying their house being left desolate;

“Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.” (Matthew 23:38)

“And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.” (Luke 21:24)

When are the times of the gentiles fulfilled?

“Teaching them [gentiles] to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” (Matthew 28:20)

    The times of the gentiles remain until the end of the world. Consider;

“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations [gentiles]; and then shall the end come.” (Matthew 24:14) (KJV 1900)

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations [gentiles], baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” (Matthew 28:19–20) (KJV 1900)

And consider, after Christ abolished circumcision, today’s Jews are among the gentiles who trod down Jerusalem. And to whom we preach the gospel to.

Pertaining to the 1948 event, the establishment of the nation of Israel and Bible prophesy:

Amos 9:13-15 (World English Bible -- Public Domain)

13 “Behold, the days come,” says Yahweh,
“that the plowman shall overtake the reaper,
    and the one treading grapes him who sows seed;
and sweet wine will drip from the mountains,
    and flow from the hills.
14 I will bring my people Israel back from captivity,
    and they will rebuild the ruined cities, and inhabit them;
and they will plant vineyards, and drink wine from them.
    They shall also make gardens,
    and eat their fruit.
15 I will plant them on their land,
and they will no more be plucked up out of their land which I have given them,” says Yahweh your God.
