Asperger'syndome basically is the top end of autism on trhe same specturm. People in that category don't like to be called "autistic" because the word brings up images of those who can't do anything. That is why they use a different name. Medically both forms are under the same diagnosis: autism spectrum disorder.

ASD itself is genetic. Environmental factors make it worse. It is worst in childhood; when kids grow up it's still there but less severe.

For what it may be worth, this life is not about you, but about Christ. (I don't say that as a criticism at all --I say it as an encouragement-- many things we are driven to wonder about and to assume, are simply not worth the time --the truth is not to be found there.)

Pursue Christ with all your heart. And let him judge you according to what he sees, you are not your own judge. He is more kind than you can possibly know.

I just read both of those articles, and while I can't say I agree theologically with everything they said or implied, I do agree with much of it. But (maybe in addition to what they say -not in subtraction from it) I want to say that at any one time or even instant, whether or not you are "in obedience" or "in disobedience", whether you are doing right or not, failing or not, lazy or not, tired or not, at the edge of giving up or not, you are exactly where God had planned for you to be all along. HE is taking you through this, whether it is by your choices or not, and he is doing it for your sake, but mostly for the sake of his own Glory. You did not choose to be born, to have Aspie's, nor --believe me here-- to have God give you rebirth.

You are a new Creature in Christ by his choice, and by his gift of faith. It doesn't matter what that looks like; don't compare yourself to other Christians.

GOD IS IN CHARGE OF YOUR LIFE --NOT YOU.

Thanks it was a small Church event. Everyone was nice they greeted me at the door. There was no much socializing once the service started but I went for scriptures.

They read from scripture of Jesus crucifixion and after he died they ended the service. There was no real socializing after though it was a good dry run for Sunday service. I bought the panflt home and I will be reviewing the scripture before going to bed.

Also the leader of the prayer group contacted me and says most attend are on my 30s to 40s my ago so I will attend a group.

So it looks promising and I think I found my Church. I know it will get easier the more I go.

My son is 17 and has autism and epilepsy. At the church we go to; they provide him with a rocking chair. This helps him not be so antsy when he's restless. Lately though, he's been really tired; which is probably a result of other stuff going on with him heath wise.

You know you've found a good church when they are willing to accommodate your needs like this. Consider that a blessing if you find the right place, because in the past 16 years, we've probably been to about half a dozen churches. It's very hard for kids especially who's neurology challenges their ability to conform to the behavioral expectations of social settings.

If you read the account of the plagues. I'm not sure you'd say they were "disease" as we'd define "disease" today. There were locusts, lice, frogs, rivers turned to blood etc. None of that is actually "disease".

The closest you can say of "disease" is people being covered in boils. But boils aren't disease either. They can be infected, and they can be caused by diseases; but they aren't considered a "disease" themselves. "Disease" is usually defined as a degenerative condition that causes death due to organ failure.

Now I suppose that could be splitting hairs as far as terminology goes; but things like heart disease, type II diabetes, kidney and liver failure are usually said to be caused by "disease". And those are impacted largely by lifestyle choices.

On the other hand things such as developmental disabilities, injuries that result in permanent loss of function, or even something like epilepsy are considered "conditions" not "diseases".

Could one argue that STD's are a "plague from God". (Seeing how they are usually a direct result of sin.) That one I'd agree with; but someone doesn't necessarily get cancer, the flu or such type "disease" as a direct result of personal sin. All these things exist because of the fall, but not all who contract them are on account of moral failure.

John 10:10 (KJV) The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

You have been stolen from and in many ways destroyed by the enemy. I don't see any benefit of tracing history backward to know the details. The enemy will probably find a way to breach your protective walls, figuratively speaking and eventually do some damage to you.

it's also possible that you are in this predicament to overcome it and be an inspiration to others.

I found my church praise God. They are so friendly and welcoming you.

I already meet a couple who has been going for 10 years and explained that I have been gone for 15 years. We talked maintain eye contact any everything.

After the service they found the pastor I emailed and he knows I have Asperger.

I praised the help I got here the signs on how God wanted me back and even told my hearing swearing issue and we prayed together.

I dislike how people say God will heal Aspergers because I do not see it as an illness. My cousin and daughter (and most likely myself) have autism. There is nothing wrong with them. It is living in this society that is unaccepting of people who think differently, forcing people to endure the strict hussle and bussle, to conform to norms and values.

Without being proud, I like the three of us the way we are. We are passionate against injustice for others, dedicated to what we believe in and care less about worldly things. My daughter and cousin would struggle less if children and people were less more accepting.

Anyway, OP, Romans 8:28 tells us 'and we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.'

God can use your Aspergers to bless you and glorify Him. I hope you find a loving Church family who make you feel accepted for you. That they can help you focus on what you can do, rather than the Asperger's label.

Everyone has strengths and weaknesses, many people without anything to diagnose have many weaknesses. The world is the problem but one day we will be in Heaven for eternity. That is infinitely longer than our time on Earth. While here, press into Him for shelter, strength and direction.
