The power of sin is the Law...Paul explains how the LAW brings forth sin.
The sting of death however is sin...which Adam and Eve succumbed to.

I have understood that sin means basically that person rejects God, or lives apart from God, is without God. Adam and Eve rejected God and were expelled to this first death. That was the original sin and the result is that we are born also in separation from God and so in sin. Jesus is different, because God was with him right at the beginning and Jesus never rejected God. On short moment Jesus felt God had forsaken him, but even then, God didn’t forsake him, because He raised Jesus from the dead.

About the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lima sabachthani?" That is, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
    Mat. 27:46

Sin is basically opposite to righteous and righteous person lives, because he remains loyal/faithful to God.

He who does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever is born of God doesn't commit sin, because his seed remains in him; and he can't sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are revealed, and the children of the devil. Whoever doesn't do righteousness is not of God, neither is he who doesn't love his brother.
    1 John 3:7-10

But the righteous will live by faith. If he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.
    Hebrews 10:38

These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.
    Mat. 25:46

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
    Romans 6:23

So, when you know God, don’t reject Him, but remain loyal to Him and you don’t have sin. :)

Yes, when people search for truth, once they find it, they can't live with it so they put it on their ignore list...

I take some issue to your definition of sin or at least I feel it may have been ill defined. Sin is to disobey God. Adam and Eve were born in the image of God and as I Co 15 states, were created the natural man first and then given a "life-giving spirit". The natural man lived on after the act of sin and died a natural death; the spiritual died after the act and thus they were no longer of the spirit, but of the flesh only and were made to leave the Garden of Eden with Cherubim set in place to guard it from reentry until the time of the Promised One...Jesus the Savior. They had to look to the Promise (Genesis 3:15) of a Savior to "live" on in eternity once physically dead until the time of Christ's resurrection.

Sorry, but I have to disagree slightly. I think it is so that when person rejects God, it also leads to disobedience, but disobedience is actually the result of sin. Reason why I think so is, sin is the opposite of righteous. And righteous person is loyal/faithful to God.

Like it is said in that, righteousness is what righteous does. Same way, sin is what sinner does. It is like in the parable of good and bad tree. If the tree is good, it produces good fruit, and if the tree is bad, it produces bad fruit. From fruits you can know it. But fruits, or in this case, acts are only the result, not the reason/source.

Even so, every good tree produces good fruit; but the corrupt tree produces evil fruit. A good tree can't produce evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree produce good fruit. Every tree that doesn't grow good fruit is cut down, and thrown into the fire. Therefore, by their fruits you will know them.

To sin is unrighteousness...a different issue is...to sin is to disobey God which is saying you want something more than you want what God desires of you. Remember, Adam and Eve did not have the sinful nature when they committed the first sin...they were made in the image of God. The Devil used his wiles on them and they followed him...creating a sinful nature. The Devil, the world and the flesh are our constant tempters that if we give way to leads to sin and the need for repentance.
    Genesis 3:11:
And he said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?”
God was concerned His command was broken.
    Genesis 3:17:
17 To Adam he said, “Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat from it,’
    “Cursed is the ground because of you;
through painful toil you will eat food from it
all the days of your life.
His LAW was to be upheld and that is love toward God...Now that Jesus has come God's law is fulfilled through living by love and the Spirit.
    See also I John 5:2-4:
This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. 3 In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, 4 for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.

But I understand what you are trying to bring out, in my view it is not quite accurate.
