Here I am quoting mostly the words of Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus Himself claims that He is God.

Lord Jesus Christ says in John 5:23
"....all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father".
note: Lord Jesus Christ himself says to honor Him "just as" they do for the Father. So, We honor the Father and His begotten Son equally by worshipping.

Lord Jesus Christ claims in John 14:9 as
"..He who has seen Me has seen the Father".
note: It's a unique saying that He(Lord Jesus Christ) is the image of the Father. God created man in His own image, but nobody can claim like Jesus claimed in a unique statement.

Lord Jesus Christ says in John 10:30
"I and the Father are one."
note: He says they are one -together and combined, because the Word was in God and was begotten as Son of God.

    In Luke 24:50-52
"...He(Lord Jesus Christ) lifted up his hands and blessed them. While he was blessing them, He left them and was taken up into heaven. Then they worshiped Him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy.
note: They worshipped Lord Jesus Christ when He was take up to heaven. Angels did not stopped those who worshipped Him.

Lord Jesus Christ says in Revelation 1:17-18
“Don’t be afraid. I am the first and the last, and the Living one. I was dead, and behold, I am alive forever and ever..."
...(continue to read in Revelation 21:6-7, Jesus Christ says,
"It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end....
"He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son.".
note: Lord Jesus Christ says that He is God. The Alpha and the Omega says: I am God.
God the Father has no beginning and no end, He is not alpha and omega. He is immortal, and cannot taste death. He is in unapproachable light.

    Isaiah 25:8
"He will swallow up death for all time, And the Lord GOD will wipe tears away from all faces, And He will remove the reproach of His people from all the earth; For the LORD has spoken. And it will be said in that day, "Behold, this is our God for whom we have waited that He might save us. This is the LORD for whom we have waited; Let us rejoice and be glad in His salvation."
note: Lord Jesus Christ swallowed the death for all time, the prophesy says "Behold, this is our God for whom we have waited that He might save us".

Lord Jesus Christ says in John 17:10
"All things that are mine are yours(Father's), and yours are mine".
note: Lord Jesus Christ says: all that The Holy Father possess belongs to the Son of God.

Lord Jesus Christ was not created, He was born as The Father's word. Adam was created, but Lord Jesus Christ was not created. Lord Jesus Christ said that He was there even before Abraham. At the right time He took flesh to fullfill the law and it's requirements, as no man in this earth can follow those laws as perfect as Lord Jesus Christ whether in mind, words and deeds. Because, Sin has shut every human-kind in its darkness. Only Lord Jesus Christ has won over it.

    John 1:1-3
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
Note: God's word is also God, that's why Jesus Christ - "His name is called The Word of God". (Revelation 19:13).

Jesus Christ is The Word that came out from God the Father. Thus, He was the first born, He is only begotten Son of God.

Verse for Worshipping Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven..

The members in Heaven worshipping God the Father and His Son.
    Revelation 5:11-14
    11 I saw, and I heard something like a voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders. The number of them was ten thousands of ten thousands, and thousands of thousands;

12 saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who has been killed to receive the power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, and blessing!”

13 I heard every created thing which is in heaven, on the earth, under the earth, on the sea, and everything in them, saying, “To him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb be the blessing, the honor, the glory, and the dominion, forever and ever! Amen!”

14 The four living creatures said, “Amen!” Then the elders fell down and worshiped.

Dear Anand Prabhu Antony. There is only One God in three Parts: Father God, Son God, (Jesus) and Holy Spirit, God Father is in Heaven, Jesus was man while He lived on Earth, and Holy Spirit, who is with us on Earth now. Jesus told us in Matthew 22: The first and great Commandment is: Love God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. The second is like it: love thy neighbour as thyself." God is Love, and God wants loving sons and daughters. ( neighbour are all we know and all we meet)
The Bible tells us: give up all selfish and unloving words and deeds, Love God with all our hearts, and love our neighbour as we love ourselves. Jesus died that we might live, and our neighbour is all we know and all we meet. That is straightforward and easy to understand. We live on Earth to learn to Love God, our Heavenly Father above all else, and love our neighbour as we love ourselves. Satan also plays his part, but we have Jesus on our side, and God LOVES US. Love is very catching, let us therefore follow Jesus`s advice, and love all around as we love ourselves. Love is VERY CATCHING. Why not try it: it is easy to understand, and God is always there to help us. ASK and you shall receive. Matthew 7: 7-10: We ask and receive and thank God and share all love around us. I say this with love, Anand Prabhu Antony. Greetings from Emmy, your sister in Christ.

The answer to the question Did Jesus himself say: "I am God and worship me?" is: Did Jesus himself say "I am only a prophet, don't worship me"?

Chances are this is the line of thought and reasoning Muslims and Jehovah witnesses are pursuing when attacking the nature of Jesus. It's very much a superficial approach to understanding the scriptures of the old and new testaments and the people using this tactic are generally not interested in the truth. So press them to show you where in the Bible Jesus says "I am only a prophet, don't worship me". It doesn't show that either, so a more thoughtful and intellectually honest approach is needed.

In case they are genuinely interested in thoughtful examination of the issue, there are numerous related passages in the entire Bible that shows as the ESV translates it, "Now I want to remind you, although you once fully knew it, that Jesus, who saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe." Jude 1:5.

If anyone is interested in learning about this topic, it only takes a few hours to go through it. The best explanation I have found is done by a biblical scholar speaking every day language here:

Lets consider the divine qualities of God and see if Jesus fit himself into it.
    1. God can forgive sin.
But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins. . ." Then He said to the paralytic, "Get up, pick up your mat, and go home." Mat.9:6
Then Jesus said to her, "Your sins are forgiven." Luke 7:48 (NIV)

2.God is eternal and the creator of everything.
Jesus is present before the creation of the world. In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
    John 1:1-3(NIV)
“Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;” (Genesis 1:26). Who is God talking to here? This is definitely Jesus

    3. Jesus is the Jehova God of the Old Testament.
    I AM WHO I AM. Exodus 3:14
I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am he. You will indeed die in your sins. John 8:24 (NLIT)
    4. Jesus did not denied being worshiped.

Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God."
    Mat. 14:33 (NIV)
    The blind man worshiped Jesus.
Then the man said, “Lord, I believe,” and he worshiped him. John 9:38
Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!” John 20:28
If Jesus is not God then certainly it is complete violation of the 1st Commandment.
You shall have no other gods before me.You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God punishing the children for the sin of the parents the third and fourth generation of those who hate me. Exodus 20:3-5
    5. God can grant us eternal life.
And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
    1 John 5:11 (NLV)
Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die. John 11:25 (NIV)
    6. Only God can atonement for our sins.
He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins--and not only our sins but the sins of all the world. 1John 2:2 (NLV)

The Son is the visible image of the invisible God. Col:1:15 (NIV)
There are so many instances which I can quote to confirm that Jesus is the Lord God and should be worshiped.
Then I saw a Lamb, on the earth. Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures In a loud voice they were saying:Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!” Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and all that is in them, saying:“To him who sits on the throne be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!”
The four living creatures fell down and worshiped.
    Rev.6:6-14 (NIV)
To those who believe there are plenty of references that Jesus is the Lord God. But those who do not believe they are already been judged.

If you worship God, you will do what God asks of you. If you do what Jesus asks of you, you are worshiping God because Jesus asks you to do something in the name of God.

I see that all the replies to this thread are from those who believe Yeshua is God and should be worshiped as such. I disagree. However, if I were to state why I disagree, I would have 10-15 people coming against my posts making replying to them all very tedious and time consuming. Nevertheless, I will make such an attempt to address post #22 one or two verses at a time. I would appreciate it if you allow Anand to reply first. If he fails to address my post adequately, then feel free to assist him. If I am too overwhelmed with replies, I will will just bow out, not because I don't have a defense, but because I don't have the time for endless debate.

Good... I too searched alot and wanted to know the truth. And finally I found the truth because Word of God is not broken as scripture says it. I have more verses from the scripture to prove, but I did not post everything as I was expecting a right time to post it.
Dear elder brother we believe in One True Living God. You can proceed.

    God bless.

This verse says nothing about Yeshua (Jesus) being God. We are to honor our Heavenly Father for who He is and for what He has done and we are to honor His Son Yeshua for who he is and for what he has done. We are not to honor the Son as our Heavenly Father, nor are we to honor our Heavenly Father as though He was our brother Yeshua.

Yeshua is NOT claiming to be the Father. He is claiming to be the image of the Father as far as his character is concerned. We know he was not claiming that Philip was seeing the Father because Yeshua said no man has seen the Father in John 6:46. In other words, all the people that saw Yeshua prior to John 6:46 were NOT seeing the Father. Neither was Philip or any other NT person seeing the Father. Keep in mind that an image is not the reality. An image of an apple is not the apple itself. Yeshua is not the Father, but only an image of Him. He is not a vague image like all other men, but a clear and concise image, so much so that when we see him, we see the Father.

Lord Yeshua, the Messiah, did say that He is Son of God. Christians honours both the Holy Father and His only begotten Son. But, just honouring them individually is not that verse was meaning for. Lord Jesus Christ did not say in that verse as 'Honour the Son and Honour the Father". He is saying in a different way as: "Honour the Son like you Honour the Father". Nobody in this earth dare to compare himself with the Holy Father, but why Lord Jesus Christ saying that way? Because the Heavenly members are worshipping both the Holy Father and His only begotten Son.
    Revelation 5:11-14
    11 I saw, and I heard something like a voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders. The number of them was ten thousands of ten thousands, and thousands of thousands;

14 The four living creatures said, “Amen!” Then the elders fell down and worshiped.

These verses shows that both the Holy Father and His only begotten Son is worshipped. Is it not the honour to the Son of God just as to the Father?

    Does that mean they are the same being? Yeshua said something similar in John 17:22;

"And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:"

Here again, Yeshua says he and the Father are one. But he also prays that his followers will be one in the same sense that he and Father YHWH are one. That is a oneness of mind, purpose, and will, not a oneness of being.

Hebrews 1:6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

If YHWH commanded the angels to worship His Son, then certainly all men should worship him as well. However, we are NOT to worship him as the "only true God", but as the Son of the only true God. Yeshua clearly taught us that his Father (YHWH) is the "only true God" in John 17:3. By doing so, he excluded himself as the only true God. If he is also the only true God, then we have two Gods. Elsewhere we are taught that Yeshua's Father (the only true God) is Yeshua's God (Revelation 3:12 and others). If Yeshua has a God that he worships and Yeshua is also a God that we are to worship, then we have two Gods. If Yeshua is the mediator between man and the only true God and Yeshua is also the only true God, then we have two Gods. One God would be mediating between the other God and man. If the only true God told His Son to sit as His right hand, then we would have two Gods sitting side by side as it were. There is only one true God, Yeshua's Father.
