  1. Welcome to Christian Forums, a forum to discuss Christianity in a friendly surrounding.

Your voice is missing! You will need to register to be able to join in fellowship with Christians all over the world.

We hope to see you as a part of our community soon and God Bless!

  2. The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  3. The forums in the Christian Congregations category are now open only to Christian members. Please review our current Faith Groups list for information on which faith groups are considered to be Christian faiths. Christian members please remember to read the Statement of Purpose threads for each forum within Christian Congregations before posting in the forum.
  4. Please note there is a new rule regarding the posting of videos. It reads, "Post a summary of the videos you post . An exception can be made for music videos.". Unless you are simply sharing music, please post a summary, or the gist, of the video you wish to share.
  5. There have been some changes in the Life Stages section involving the following forums: Roaring 20s, Terrific Thirties, Fabulous Forties, and Golden Eagles. They are changed to Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X, and Golden Eagles will have a slight change.
  6. CF Staff, Angels and Ambassadors; ask that you join us in praying for the world in this difficult time, asking our Holy Father to stop the spread of the virus, and for healing of all affected.
  7. We are no longer allowing posts or threads that deny the existence of Covid-19. Members have lost loved ones to this virus and are grieving. As a Christian site, we do not need to add to the pain of the loss by allowing posts that deny the existence of the virus that killed their loved one. Future post denying the Covid-19 existence, calling it a hoax, will be addressed via the warning system.

I am starting to develop a fear for face masks. I can wear one even though I sometimes have trouble breathing. The issue I have is that I am having difficulty seeing people wearing them. They can make the kindest or prettiest girl look like a craze serial killer.

I have been going out but I have been finding it more difficult. I even had the life group put hands and me and prayed which I though I was done with it until the following day I had it bad and had to come home early.

Last Friday started out bad seeing it on the news which I don't watch but my family does. It got better when I talked to my friend. He helped me through it. We prayed. I then talked to my female friend and she prayed for me too.

However hanging out with my other friend on Saturday I felt uncomfortable. One was wearing a mask that made him look real creepy. Then my friends wife was wearing one and she looked crazed. I then took my glasses off and walked home head down trying to avoid cars which makes it that I accidentally look at people.

Yesterday started out bad going to the after virtual Church physical park Church. I got nervous going there after spotting many mask wearing people out in the street. I then made it to the park and I was fine as I meet a friend I have not talking to her in a while. Also some had their masks down so I felt better. I was fine there even walking home I was okay.

The issue I have is that I can be walking and just spot one person with a mask and it gets to me and I go into fight or flight mode and have to get home quickly. I then put a image blocker in my browser so I don't accidental spot a mask wearing image.

I don't care if they are suppose to protect. They look creepy an I have no worries I am going to catch Covid I have worries that Covid is going to make me have a nervous breakdown and lose it.

We teamed up with Faith Counseling. Can they help you today?

Not much you can do about other people wearing masks apart from avoiding them I guess.

Trekking outside somewhere in the woods where there are less people and nobody bothers with masks might help.

I suspect sometime into November you won't have to wear one if you get what I'm meaning. Could be wrong but we'll see.

Well that is the reverse of myself. I sometimes have problems wearing them for something longer than a short shopping trip or errand. The breathing in hot air etc. makes me feel like I'm suffocating...

As I said I don't like wearing them as I have trouble breathing so most of the time I only wear them when at a store.

I am having an extremely hard time seeing people wearing them. Right now I am at the park walking and seeing them is starting to put me in a fight or flight mode. I hate not seeing full faces and smiles.

They all remind me of Cyberman from Doctor Who with no emotions. I never though the masks would catch on and I am still shocked which keeps me up at night thar many actually ate wearing them especially the younger people.

Your reactions to people wearing masks are not normal. It's understandable to feel a little "off" about people in masks, since our brains are designed to take in information that is provided by seeing all of a person's face at one time. But this extreme anxiety and avoidance is not normal nor healthy. I would encourage you to speak to whoever your therapist or counselor may be, to see if you can get some help in learning to cope better.

I been talking on by text and phone calls with my male and female friends from Church. They are helping me a lot and are real concerned about me. They are praying for me and tell me to pray which I have to do more.

Friends are great, and prayers are great. But sometimes we need the help of the professionals that God has gifted to us here on earth, too :) Just something to bear in mind.

I know but if I did not make friends last year before this pandemic hit I would have been worse off.

Also because of this I developed unhealthy habits with certain types of videos I don't want to get into. But yes I am seeking therapy too but I don't want my medication doubled again.
