"The ad casts the candidate as a crusader to fix a flawed law, invokes the broken promise about keeping health insurance you like, and boasts that he “took the White House to task for the disastrous” website. It swipes at Barack Obama’s signature legislative accomplishment in a manner you might expect from the President’s opponents.

The difference is that the commercial was cut by a Democratic group on behalf of an incumbent Democrat."

"Andrea Bozek, a spokeswoman for House Republicans’ campaign arm, framed the ads conceding the law’s shortcomings as an admission that the issue is a winner for the GOP. “If Democrats are being forced to spend resources in February attacking Obamacare,” she said, “then this is a very grim foreshadowing of what November will bring.”

LOL ... good luck to the Democrat incumbents with that ploy.

They should have run faster and farther earlier, when it would have made a difference.

They supported the bill. They voted for it. They went on the road and stumped for it. They repeated the lie over and over again - on camera... no, they're into their blunder hook, line, and sinker and there is no water deep enough to hide from the truth of their complicity in it.

It was just a month ago when I posted a thread where the chairman of the Democratic National Convention said Democrats would campaign based on their support of Obamacare. Now, they are running from it.

Good question. The point is that Democrats who voted for Obamacare (some with having read it) now see the writing on the wall (which polls have been showing for some time) that they will lose office unless they distance themselves from the ACA. They assume everyone will have forgotten the fact that they alone brought it into law, and also for some reason don't realize that their opponents will spend billions reminding everyone that this is in fact Demo-Care, not just Obamacare.

If one is running with the idea of fixing what needs to be fixed with Obamacare, that is not running against it. Every piece of legislation needs altering and is not expected to just run right out the box.

What they are running on is legislating Obamacare in a normal legislative manner.

Maybe you should read what you source a little closer.

Maybe they should have read it before the passed something that needed so much fixing, huh?

How many exceptions to the ACA has Obama now legislated himself?

Here's the thing, many wide-reaching government programs have had problems getting started, Social Security for example, back in the 1930s. You don't simply abandon programs like this the second a problem or two happens, you fix them.

One thing that confuses me more and more about conservatives who complain about the ACA (and boy, do they!), is that none of them can cite specific reasons why they dislike it. Sure, they point to the problems with the website getting started (like most large websites have), and the fact that private for-profit insurance companies are raising rates (there's a shocker!), but beyond that, the simply cannot cite anything specific within the law itself they have a problem with.

Mostly, it seems, they have to lie. The cry "death panels!", or "socialism!" or "government take-over of health care," none of which is true of the ACA.

-- A2SG, seems telling, doesn't it?

My wife just had a colonoscopy. 2 years ago my out of pocket cost was $50. I paid $1100 this year. And, I get to pay more for that insurance too. All thanks to Obamacare. Who can afford such costs? Many people will refuse this diagnostic treatment and end up with stage IV colon cancer as a result. Yes, that is progressive, huh? So it isn't unreasonable to assume that Obamacare is going to kill people as a result of this huge exponential price escalation.

So your insurance carrier raised their rates, and that's Obamacare's fault?

What specific provision in the law mandated that rate increase? Did your insurance cover so little before that the things it has to cover for now make your insurance so much costlier?

Or, perhaps, did your insurance carrier just have a massive hissy fit and raise its rates, just 'cuz? And, in so doing, they assume you'll blame Obama instead of them?

-- A2SG, isn't better coverage a good thing?

Have you tried the healthcare insurance exchanges to see if you can get a better plan? I'm willing to bet you haven't even tried for a quote.

healthcare.gov has the info.

Anyway if you can't find a better plan you can always not be so cheap and get your wife the tests she apparently needs.

Cute. Nowhere in the law, tmk, does obamacare specify that companies that charged $50 for colonoscopies must now charge $1,100 for them. Frankly, I doubt there are any provisions in the law for specific rates for anything.

Uh huh. Cuz that's what businesses do - throw massive hissy fits and raise their rates, "just 'cuz."
