Democrats Republicans - dump party politics

The reason there was such dramatic political change in Russia was largely because there was one party and therefore the government was responsible for everything.

In the US the government gets grumbled at, occasionally, but it is mainly the never-ending football game where the ball just keeps going places and blame keeps getting thrown at one side or the other, and when one party has done too many things wrong the ball just goes to the other side for a while while they accumulate blame, 8 or 12 years, then it gets thrown back again, endlessly.

There isn't a significant difference between the era when one party is in and the era when the other party is in, it's just a game we play so we have something to argue about and can pretend we really do hold power.

The red team is allegedly the party of small government, fiscal responsibility and a free market.

Their star as the media now exalts him, was Ronald Reagan, the first President since FDR to throw fiscal responsibility to the winds - G H Bush called it 'voodoo economics' - and start building both the National Debt and the Trade Deficit to gigantic proportions.

Sounds more like a member of the blue team?

Bill Clinton signed into effect NAFTA, where the US shipped low price wheat into Mexico without a restrictive tariff bankrupting Mexican farmers who then had to go work in the car factories as they arrived from Michigan, where the car workers lost their jobs.

Car workers in Michigan got 29 dollars an hour pay and 39 dollars an hour benefits. Moving the factories to Mexico improved profits enormously to the benefit of both stockholders (pension funds to a large extent, held by older workers) and senior executives.

Younger car workers in Michigan particularly suffered both loss of income and collapse in house values, losing both income and capital.

Just the sort of cut-throat economics you would expect when you vote in a red party President.

And what goes on now?

A pile of Democrats want the impeach a Republican President for what are considered heinous actions in trying to prevent a major war.

So we thought the Democrats loved socialism and Russia and the Republicans were all for building up the military and starting wars, as G W Bush did.

Do Americans actually exist or are there really just Democrats and Republicans?
