Before choosing to become comfortably numb to all the rabble with all the buzzwords it does remind me of a figurative I drew once of a lemon tree with people tied to it in an attempt to stop the tree from being uprooted. The next caption was flies buzzing around the roots of bitterness. I can’t remember the caption ......................................... ahhh yes Peter Paul and Mary tune.
Lemons are sour, not bitter - except maybe the pith which no one eats anyway.

That's OK because every time the Republicans lose via the Electoral College THEY want to eliminate it, so you don't need to establish that you are not a Democrat.
The republicans have never lost "via the electoral college".

Alkaline and not acidic either. Bitter is perhaps in the pucker power?
What is alkaline and not acidic either? Base and sweet are two ends of the spectrum - if it has both, then it has neither and is neutral. Surely you do not mean lemon juice which is notoriously sour. No, bitter is distinct from sour (and from salty, sweet and umami) although the basic flavors can be combined.

Have you ever bit into something bitter? We have pig nuts (related to hickory) that'll pucker you right up. It is a different kind of pucker - dry, astringent - than a sour pucker which tend to be juicier, in my experience.

The republicans have never lost "via the electoral college".
...and on their current trajectory will no longer be winning via the popular vote.

It means nothing unless you try to digest it. Lemons is what we’re referring to? Cancel culture occurs also when alkaline digestive juices that form in the mouth for starch consumption meets with the acidic digestive juices needed for protein. They cancel each other out and nothing gets digested.

What do you mean?
Losing "via the electoral college" implies that a party wins the popular vote, but loses through the electoral college. That never happened for the republican party, only for the democratic party.

Republicans do not make up half of all Americans and that one person is the head of the national Republican party.

You need an exact percent?

One person regardless of his status does not represent
the attitude of half the country over the past 57 or
whatever

I don't have a dog in America's fight with itself,
though I'd prefer a prosperous, sane America.
I see both sides accusing eachother of the same things,
and occasionally suggest the extremist view of
" they" always / never do this are that, all are hypocrits
etc is obviously untrue and does only harm to keep
making such claims.

I guess I will stop. Go ahead America, destroy yourself.
It will save us the expense.

One of my sil grew up in Hong Kong his dad being the head hunter for ceo’s. I can understand the tension there in a lot of ways, not just as religion relates.
What I understand and what is played out often on these forums is the pliyte that others go thru. Naked is the attire of of not just the Emperors clothing but of Laodocia also.
There’s an old saying that one person said to another “If you would just bow to the Emporia you wouldn’t have to eat those chickpeas” The other said to the other “If you would just learn to like chickpeas you wouldn’t have to bow to the Emperor”

Democrats questioned the elections first.

Every time a Republican president is elected,
Democrats go on cable news asking to abolish the electoral college.
Yes it should be abolished. And I say that will Democrats win.
That puts doubt in the system and that weakens the system.
I don't see how it does. And I cant see why the popular vote losses , because electoral college. It's cheating to me.

The electoral college is good for America.
It gives power to all 50 states.
It doesn't give power to America voters.

I'm a Democrat, but I'd still rather keep the Electoral College in place.

"We'd win more often" is not a good enough reason to drop it.

The reason Democrats have lost a couple of elections while winning the popular vote has always been a result of not paying sufficient attention in a given election to the fears and needs of voters in all states. Lazy campaigning.

The EC is garbage that takes away the voice of Americans. Why should my vote count for a fraction of someone's in Wyoming?
