If people stopped cutting down and burning forests, we would enjoy God's method of climate control. If the world is saying something, I immediately doubt it. Man's ways are not God's ways. The world system is controlled by Satan. Greed and corruption drives the destruction of the planet. Now the world system wants to blame people for just enjoying God's provision. Many people eat too much and have an unbalanced diet. A blanket ban on eating meat is just another demonic social engineering attempt that avoids the real problem.

Exactly.

As per usual any discussion of the impacts of animal agriculture degrades into fart jokes.

I can't wait until this tactic wins out on the issue and moves on to poop jokes for those who have the temerity to take issue with waters contaminated by livestock manure lagoons.

Don't forget about all the fertilizer (that pollutes our water supply and kills off fish and other creatures) that is required to grow the vegys

Erm, growing food for animals requires fertiliser, and the waste of the animals adds to the pollution, on top off that. More reason to cut down on breeding animals for food.

Animal waste is fertilizer.

If they used that instead of chemicals

What cows eat doesn't require fertilizer unless the farmer decides to feed them field corn which does, grasses/hay do not. What people decide to fertilize their yard with is 10-20 times more potent than the fertilizer field corn requires.

Most folks that I know that grow gardens either use cow or chicken maure for fertilizer.

Humans eat all kinds of "crap" literally and don't even know it, and it doesn't have the side effects of the petroleum based fertilizer products either. But "it shore does stink" when it's being spread by a "honey wagon" :swoon:

Isn’t your party...
I’m not now, nor have I ever been, a member of the Democratic Party. Nor any other political party for that matter.

Most beef cattle are fed corn, aren’t they? “Grass fed” is something of a delicacy. And most people don’t do much to their grass.

Even the majority of "grass fed" beef isnt grass fed as the title can remain on the meat so long as the animals diet was grass prior to a certain point hence the term grass finished being introduced.

Like I said before that depends on the farmer. My Aunt always grass/hay fed her Herefords/Angus because it was cheaper and less labor intensive, just let them out in the pasture and the cows do all of the work except for cutting/baling the hay. ^_^

Small scale operations such as your Aunts are a sliver of and not repressive of the large scale operations that dominate the market.

No, I’m not joking.

'Eat Less Meat': 2020 Democrats Mull Changing Laws on Meat Consumption to Fight Climate Change

Eat Less Meat’: 2020 Democrats Mull Changing Laws on Meat Consumption to Fight Climate Change

Quote one:
During Thursday’s climate change town hall hosted by CNN, 2020 Democratic hopeful Kamala Harris — who consistently polls at the fourth spot among the others — was asked by an audience member if she supports changing “dietary guidelines to reduce the consumption of red meat in light of the impact of climate change.”

After first making it clear that “we have a problem in America,” Harris responded, “The answer is yes.”

“The balance that we have to strike here, frankly, is about what government can and should do around creating incentives and then banning certain behaviors,” she said.

Quote 2.
Asked if the American people should change their eating habits, 2020 Democratic primary contender Andrew Yang pointed to a U.N. study that revealed: “We’re going to be okay if the vast majority of the world goes vegetarian immediately.”

then banning certain behaviors

What other "behaviors".

make eating meat illegal? What go to jail for eating a hamberger? Really? Will we be allowed to substitute snickers candy bars instead of eating meat?

Have the government control our food? Really? What happens when a government controls a populations food? They starve.

Broccoli for everyone! Yea!

It seems that "eating as close to nature as possible" that has been the trend among the health-conscious is about to descend into "let's see what we can substitute". Nothing is real anymore. Chemicals replacing natural fertilizer, honey "sauce" replacing what's made by bees, and now meat (first beef, now chicken) are being substituted by stuff that isn't meat at all, yet has all the fat and cholesterol we're told to avoid.

so, makes one wonder what are we actually gaining? Food ... maybe not optimum but survival.

If we went back to the "natural" way of farming and other natural food sources ... doubt enough food could be produced to feed the population of the earth.

The way technology is advancing likely to come down to a food pill(s) of some sort. Doesn't that just sound delicious? :o) On the menu ... would you like a pink, a blue or a green pill ... or we have a combo. ;o)

Don't know where it will go, but we don't want government controlling our food choices.
