She's apparently a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, not a traditional Democrat. The DSA has had some success recently getting its people elected as Democrats, but they're basically revolutionaries trying to take over the Democratic establishment, so this should probably be "crazy things socialists say" rather than "crazy things Democrats say."
