The idea that being a Christian is defined by a list of things you should and should not do is called legalism. The apostle Paul had a lot of harsh words for that kind of Christian. Read Galatians in particular. If you feel that a certain kind of music is detrimental to your life, do not listen to it. But do not be so superficial as to pretend that replacing it with so-called "Christian" music automatically will improve your life.
Here's a news flash: Christians can drink, Christians can smoke. Christians can even use profanity and listen to weird music. Should they do so? Maybe not. But looking at sin in such a superficial way is not good for the soul. It's better to sin, but sin boldly, than to have no faith.
