There are some that believe the western wall is actually part of Fort Antonia......
The Romans had to take out the walls and towers to get to the Temple........

New Evidence that "The Temple Mount" is the remains of Roman Fort Antonia

The "Temple Mount" In Jerusalem is the Remains of Fort Antonia

The Destruction of Jerusalem - George Peter Holford, 1805AD

Before their final demolition, however, Titus took, a. survey of the city and its fortifications ; and, while contemplating their impregnable strength, could not help ascribing his success to the peculiar interposition of the ALMIGHTY HIMSELF. "Had not God himself (exclaimed he) aided out operations, and driven the Jews from their fortresses, it would have been absolutely impossible to have taken them ; for what could men, and the force of engines, have done against such towers as these ?" After this he commanded that the city should be commanded razed to its foundations, excepting only the three lofty towers Hippocos, Phasael, and Mariamne, which he suffered to remain as evidences of its strength, and as trophies of his victory.
There was left standing, also, a small part of the western wall; as a rampart for a garrison, to keep the surrounding country in subjection.
Titus now gave orders that those Jews only who resisted should be slain ; but the soldiers, equally void of pity and remorse, slew even the sick and the aged. The robbers and seditious were all punished with death : the tallest and most beautiful youths, together with several of the Jewish nobles were reserved by Titus to grace his triumphal entry into Rome. After this selection, all above the age of seventeen were sent in chains into Egypt, to be employed there as slaves, or distributed throughout the empire to be sacrificed as gladiators in the amphitheatres ; whilst those who were under this age, were exposed to sale.

In executing the command of Titus, relative to the demolition of Jerusalem, the Roman soldiers not only threw down the buildings, but even dug up their foundations, and so completely levelled the whole circuit of the city, that a stranger would scarcely have known that it had ever been inhabited by human beings.
Thus was this great City, which only five months before, had been crowded with nearly two millions of people, who gloried in its impregnable strength, entirely depopulated, and leveled with the ground. And thus, also was our LORD'S prediction, that her enemies should "lay her even with the ground," and "should not leave in her one stone upon another, " (Luke xix. 44.) most strikingly and fully accomplished ! -- This fact is confirmed by Eusebius, who asserts that he himself saw the city lying in ruins ; and Josephus introduces Eleazer as exclaiming "Where is our great city, which, it was believed, GOD inhabited ? It is altogether rooted and torn up from its foundations ; and the only monument of it that remains, is the camp of its destroyers pitched amidst its reliques !"

In the video below Leeland Jones finds the scorpion, which was the symbol of the 10th Roman Legion, carved into the underground section of what has come to be known as "The Wailing Wall".

You like to think al was fulfilled then, but there was no 'comfort for the mourners' in 70 AD.
The Jews were all killed or taken into slavery. Only the few Christian Jews, who escaped before Jerusalem was taken; survived.

Isaiah 61:2b-11 goes on to tell of a great restoration of the Lord's people in all of the holy Land, something that is yet to happen, as many prophesies tell us.

Also, Luke 21:25-26, describing cosmic events, the actual Day of the Lord's vengeance and fiery wrath; awaits fulfilment.
Then we read in Isaiah 63:1-6, how the Lord gets His garments splashed in blood, then at His Return His clothes are already stained with blood, Revelation 19:13, Luke 21:27.

It is rather plain that any preterist ideas of a past fulfilment of these prophesies, are just wrong and simply leaves those who don't like the idea of having to face tough times, in the dark about what will happen.

I didn't vote because the two scriptures are about two different events.
Isaiah 61:2 ….the Day of vengeance, refers to the forthcoming Sixth Seal worldwide disaster.
Luke 21:22 is the Roman conquest, Temple destroyed and the Jews dispersed for the second time.

Note: that the Jews have returned to a part of the holy Land, but as Ezekiel 21:14 prophesies, they face a third swing of the Sword and will once again be removed from there. Jeremiah 12:14

Like you just posted - not ALL Jews were killed....the faithful remnant and the Gentiles that had joined them were all spared by heeding the instructions that Jesus (and His apostles had given). This destruction also gave them rest from persecution they had been enduring:

Luke 21:20-22 ~ But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, you will know that her desolation is near. Then those in Judea, let them flee to the mountains; and those in her midst, let them depart out; and those in the countries, let them not enter into her. For these are the days of vengeance, to fulfill all that is written.

The day on which Titus encompassed Jerusalem, was the feast of the Passover.........................

..............This memorable siege terminated on the eighth day of the ninth month, A.D. 70 : its duration was nearly five months, the Romans having invested the city on the fourteenth day of the fourth month, preceeding.

To fulfill all that is Written..... About the Roman conquest, obviously not for every prophecy; then, in the first century.

The Christians who escaped went to Pella, on the east bank of the Jordan, safe from the Roman armies.
I have visited the ruins of Pella, there was a Byzantine Church there. It was an extremely hot day that I was there and I was the only one to get out of our van, [Air conditioner going strong!] to look around.
But it seems that those Christians failed to keep to the faith, as it was from that area that the Mishna and the Talmud were composed and written by people like Rabbi Akiva. Certainally, there is no Christian presence there now, or of any significance in all of the holy Land today.
