reading the Bible builds and increases faith...

If so, then what happened to the Scribes, Saducees, Pharisees, (who continued and continue to oppose Yahuweh and to be against Jesus) who most certainly read Yahuweh's Word, Scripture, more than most anyone we know today ?
And , if so, why is unbelief, or lack of faith, so common today ?

Isaiah 42:20
You have seen many things, but you do not observe them; Your ears are open, but none hears,

Matthew 13:13
Therefore I speak to them in parables; because while seeing they do not see, and while hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.

A lot of those people today and in the past
were much better and more 'proficient'
at "reading the Bible"
than most anyone we know today,
but it did not build their faith, nor increase it (if they had any faith at all for that matter).

In other words, for most people of the world, or for however many,
they can / could/ read the Bible all day every day,
and never come to Jesus.... i.e. neither builds nor increases their faith.

It is uncommon to see anyone "build or increase their faith" .... (in Jesus; multitudes declare their 'faith' in men/ politics/ religious figures/ etc ... but few show a life of faith in Jesus)

so true!
It is a form of spiritual deafness,
There is so much in the Bible about it
Ephesians 4:18
being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart;

How can reading the Bible not help people build their faith if without it, nobody would know what to have faith in?
Very good question.

Peter the Apostle, the messenger of Yahuweh and of the Gospel of Yahushua - Jesus,
read the Bible.

But that is NOT how Jesus said Peter KNEW Jesus IS THE MESSIAH.....

What did Jesus say about Peter ? According to Jesus, HOW did Peter KNOW that JESUS IS THE MESSIAH, SON OF THE LIVING ELOHIM(God) ?

Meanwhile, many people might read the Bible a lot, and never know.... they still may oppose the truth, be strong enemies of Yahuweh (God), and remain opposed to Jesus...
what then is the difference ?

As the verse from Ephesians 4 says, their hearts were hard....

Being one of the 12 apostles, Peter likely knew it in a way that other Israelites could not. However, one of the cross references for Luke 9:20 uses a plural:

John 6:69
We believe and know that You are the Holy One of God."

So Peter was not alone.
