And the sister of Tahpenes bare him Genubath his son, whom Tahpenes weaned in Pharaoh's house: and Genubath was in Pharaoh's household among the sons of Pharaoh.” - I Kings 11:20

The story is told that one day a beggar by the roadside asked for alms from Alexander the Great as he passed by. The man was poor and wretched and had no claim upon the ruler, no right even to lift a solicitous hand. Yet the emperor threw him several gold coins. A courtier was astonished at his generosity and commented... #D4Ldevotion #D4L #Christian

What came to mind for me is that we can never ever "out-give" God. Generosity blesses God, because it indicates a "giving" heart, which delights Him. The bottom line, is that God uses our "giving" when we give joyfully and delight in it, to bless "us" more than the one we are blessing.

Generosity, when done with a joyful heart, will always bless us bountifully, as God fulfills His promise to "chase us down and overcome us" with His blessings, as it is written:

"And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God." ~Deut 28:2

In addition, it is written that:

"for God loveth a cheerful giver." ~II Corinth 9:7

Thank you for this profound and delightful reminder on this beautiful and sunny and cool-ish Wednesday morning in May, brother.

God bless you.

Indeed Brinny. If God gave us nothing more than His perfect Son for our sins, we are incapable of matching that. Hope you have a blessed Wednesday.

We are currently at 72 (81% humidity), but headed to 92. Summer is coming soon.
