Anyone entering Canada is required to go directly to their destination and self quarantine for two weeks. A number of American couples have violated these regulations and have been fined and are now in supervised quarantine. People like these are uneducated and thoughtless.

The good Governor has restricted travel from 22 States. That would be Florida and 21 other States. They also have closed the border with Canada

So traffic from 22 States is now curtailed, no hotel stays, no restaurants, no flights, no vehicle rentals. No direct business

frankly if the supervised quarantines are not in shoddy cages then they're doing it wrong.

Not sure why this reply says that "the OP only mentions Florida" when in fact the OP says "Floridians and other visitors" and the article linked in the OP says it's visitors from 22 states. Yet again, people are making arguments against claims I (or anyone else) have never made.

Again, not sure where anyone said anything is curtailed (at least beyond the regular COVID-related restrictions). Restaurants, flights, vehicle rentals, hotels, etc. are all open for business in compliance with public health regulations. There are more than just 22 other states - there are 27 other states including NY's neighbors which they do a lot of their business with.

You're missing the point of the fine. The fine isn't a money-maker, it's meant to strictly enforce compliance. I wish it were going to be the money-maker you seem to think it will be, to be honest, but the reality is that most people will comply and those who don't will be made examples of.

New York will lead the country in an economic recovery long before Trump's flyover country. They will just be smarter about it.
