3 minutes means considerable?
Well, yeah.

Actual difference was 44:04 to 40:50. That's a difference of 3:14, or 8 percent.

It's significant ...

Of course, Romney was 50% more presidential ... so the devil got his dues ... and Obama still lost. ;)

The thing I love about this debate is that it such hyperlegalism signifying NOTHING OF IMPORTANCE that it would make a Pharisee blush!

If after the event, like immediately after the event the president fails to jump directly on a TERRORISM claim he is somehow "bad"????

Seems to me that Obama kept open the possibility that it was a coordinated act that leveraged a demonstration to strike.

So, this brings up the bigger question (one that actually WILL matter in time).

Let's fantasize of a Romney Presidency. SOmething bad will happen during this presidency (as these things always do). Will Romney go with the first "gut feel" on what happened and tell the world a story that he may have to walk back later on as facts come to the fore?

If he's lucky he will have accidentally stumbled on the facts right the first time.

But with Mitt's record of having to "walk back" comments timen and again, I'm not counting on it.

It is curious why anyone would want a president who ACTS IN HASTE in order to regret at leisure.

Doesn't seem like good domestic or foreign policy.

Does President Romney look at the radar screen, see the flock of geese and launch a nuclear strike on "the enemy" only to later apologize? Or does he gather the facts first?

Benghazi as a terrorist attack is bad enough, it is worse to act hastily in a knife-edge situation.

Did we learn nothing from the "Weapons of Mass Destruction" and "Bioterrorism Mobile Labs" thing in Iraq?

Indeed ... many people believe the world is now at the edge of the financial cliff. It's something which even people as diverse as George Soros and Glenn Beck seem to agree on, though they differ as to solutions.

Personally, I'll rest a lot easier if the EU collapses during a President Romney administration than under President Obama.

Personally, I'll rest a lot easier about events in the mideast under a Romney presidency than under Obama.

If you call something terrorism then we know that it was done by the really bad people known as "the terrorists" TM. It makes all the difference in the world if you use that label before doing the proper investigation. If you fail too use it right of the bat bad things happen. Very important.

Moderator Crowley became focus of debate when talked turned to Libya

....
As for the people in the room, if they were truly undecided, why did they applaud when she “corrected” Romney?

That revealing moment instantly put the lie to the whole premise of the debate, both in terms of the “impartial” moderator and the “undecided” participants. Crowley and many in the audience were Obama partisans.

They also applauded when Crowley corrected Obama on the same issue. But this is all moot. It was reported the day after the attack, on September 12, that the administration believed that Al Qaeda was responsible.http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...5YCQBQ&usg=AFQjCNE6LeK4Rt-z6YU9qKT0rK-NkdDwbw

And yet strangely, the administration went on for over a week that the horrific event was over a YouTube video.

They really did that!

Romney's boo-boo was trying to focus on one small part (one word said on one day) that he allowed himself to get caught in an inaccurate claim about it. If he had stayed with the overall argument, he'd have continued to beat Obama up. And this is the only area Romney has any real advantage.

His economic plan is full of holes, his foreign policy is no different, his healthcare plan is no different....

some say if a lie is repeated often enough some folks believe it. Now that you have seen in this thread the evidence that Romney's claim was accurate and the Candy Crowly and Obama were both wrong, perhaps you can stop propogating this untruth.

so why the lies about the video for 2 weeks?
Because they weren't lies. There were protests erupting all over the world within a few days of the attack in Libya, and I believe the idea was that there were people in the crowds in Libya that were protesting the video. even Al Jazeera reported that there was confusion among the Muslims in Benghazi over who was responsible; those protesting the video or insurgents from terrorist groups.

so you are claiming both stories from obama are true?
Both the President and the Secretary of State have spoken to the fact that there was confusion as to what was actually going on in Libya, this was most likely what the terrorists that fomented the attack wanted. What they also most likely wanted was a strong military response from the US. The response that you and probably Romney would have been more than happy to have provided them. In these situations it is always best to get your facts straight before you start letting loose the Tomahawks.

Apparently not.

All that is missing is the suggestion to attack Iran for the Benghazi terrorist attack.

That was when Michelle Obama broke the rules and started that round of applause.
