Criminalisation of the Purchase of Sex (Scotland)

Would you consider submitting a response to the public consultation on the proposed bill to criminalise the purchase of sex in Scotland? Anyone from anywhere in the world can respond and all supporting voices must be heard. Please go to AbolitionScotland_dot_org for details and to send your submission via an easy online form. You don't have to answer every question, just whichever you feel able to.

Since the purchase of sex was criminalised in Sweden in 1999, the number of people trafficked for sexual exploitation has been hugely reduced (to the lowest rate in Europe), demand for prostitution has been massively cut, and so less girls and women are drawn or coerced in to the sex industry. It has made a clear statement about the inestimable value of women and recognises that most prostitution is exploitation.

Please add your voice to help change the law in Scotland.

Sex is like anything else that has commercial exposure: it's a product that is sold. And supply and demand should never apply to people.
