One silly solution would be for all humanity to stop breathing! I don't think that we need to worry about this problem. God will take care of it by sending Jesus soon to create a new universe.

Do you actually understand the OP/article you posted? It is so full of errors that it can't be taken seriously, thus the 'nitpicking'. ;)

Yeah I think I do. Bonnie Waring is an Ecologist. I think I’ll go with her.

There aren’t enough trees in the world to offset society’s carbon emissions – and there never will be

For me the question is not the solution but the validity of the problem.

With mans enginuity put enough people on the problem for long enough the solutions will arise.
Getting springs that are more like droughts with constant sunshine in the UK year after year, it is obvious things are shifting in the wrong direction.

Seaspiracy on Netflix raised an interesting point, the affect of kelp was bigger than trees at capturing CO2. I do not know if this is true, but there are still a lot of unknowns in the world that potentials change the whole ball game. What is clear is we are still learning how the world recycles everything and how life as a whole works. Take the the wildlife of the world is now a minor part of all living animals, and we control most of life on earth. This power means we can directly affect things, and these discussions are no long theoretical but have real world affects.

Take for instance the whole food chain in the oceans from unicellular animals up to sharks and whales. Change this too much, and cause a collapse, and maybe we are gone also. Our issue might not be climate change but literally the oxygen we breath every day. So much is still to be discovered, it is both a crazy time to be alive but also exciting.

    God bless you

Climate change can’t be stopped, because it’s a natural cycle of warming and cooling, driven by solar minimums and maximums as the sun goes through cycles - which explains why Mars had melting of polar ice, too.

Anthropogenic global warming is a huge con job, so crooked politicians can line their pockets from skimming the hundreds of billions of dollars in carbon taxes.

The climate change/global warming scam was started by a politician- Al Gore - not by scientists.

What they don’t want you to know is that the earth was considerably warmer than today, during the medieval warm period, due to the natural cycles of warming and cooling, with no catastrophic flooding from melting polar ice.

They also don’t want you to know that at one time C02 levels were TEN TIMES HIGHER than today, also with no catastrophic flooding that they keep predicting over the last 40 years.

Those facts completely falsify the man-caused climate change scam.

Then there’s the many failed predictions of catastrophe that never occurred- just one of them was the prediction that Florida would be underwater by 2016 due to global warming.

But when the predictions fail, they rely on people having short memories and that the press won’t remind anyone of them, so they just make more dire predictions to perpetuate the scam.

Trees and vegetation don’t capture C02, they convert it to oxygen, they don’t store it.

It’s part of the natural cycle designed by God. We breathe in oxygen and exhale C02: and plants reverse the process.

C02 is not a pollutant, and in fact is only 4% of the greenhouse effect - thus in reality can’t possibly drive global warming - and the claims of feedback loops to try to perpetuate the global warming scam, are bogus.

Her premise is that trees cannot offset all of the problematic CO2 emissions. Why the pre-condition of all. Why not a realistic number, say 10-20 percent?

And this is also troubling. She said,

"Similarly, burning wood as a source of biofuel may have a positive climate impact if this reduces total consumption of fossil fuels. But forests managed as biofuel plantations provide little in the way of protection for biodiversity and some research questions the benefits of biofuels for the climate in the first place."

You can go over those links (in blue) with a divining rod and not find a single reference to "burning wood as a source of biofuel". You can find a lot of complicated goobledegook however.

She also suggests that tree planting will likely be done in a haphazard manner. This should make her fellow scientists that will oversee these plantings happy.

Most of the article is so disjointed, narrow, and negative that it is virtually useless for the purpose of informing about the role of trees in climate change mitigation.

Simply put she and others in her trade need more experience beyond their specialty. The downstream benefits of tree planting in regard to climate change mitigation can be enormous.

Rev 16:9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.

This will eventually happen but I dont think climate change will be the cause of it.

Well...since cow farts have already been labeled as extremely problematic, maybe the world leaders and politicians will work on getting rid of us all after they get rid of those pesky cows.

But in all seriousness, yes. Let's keep our eyes on Jesus. If God says He's reserving the earth for the day of judgment, then lets trust what He says and take comfort in knowing that we won't be the one's destroying the earth.

But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. 2 Peter 3:7

Why wouldn't it be possible for God's day of judgement to include our destruction of our own environment? Or better, our destruction of God's good creation, at least to the extent that we suffer horribly and fail to flourish as commanded? That would seem rather fitting, to me. Part of God's judgement being having to answer for the callousness, greed, and love of pleasure that kept us from acting wisely makes all the sense one needs. Is that not a live possibility?

Your wish will be granted. :preach:

    Revelation 11:18
And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

    And even earlier than that,

Rev 8:7 The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

Rev 8:8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood

Rev 8:9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.

    Rev 8:10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;

Rev 8:11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

Rev 8:12 And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.

Rev 8:13 And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!

But notice in Rev 9:4 the locusts loosed (which is after burning up a third part of the trees and grass) are commanded here

Rev 9:4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.

So after the third part is burned up it ceases, now its going after men without the seal of God in their foreheads.

It will be the destruction of absolutely everything, including our environment yes. God will create new heavens and a new earth, where He will be ruler and King over all, and all will be fully aware of His Glory. I think it's such a beautiful image when Jesus says in Revelation 21:5 "And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new"

God will be the one to deconstruct and to rebuild. It seems in the scriptures He does this alone, and the earth will not be destroyed by our hands, which is the lie climate change convinces people of. We play a great role in the consequences but I hardly think this would be because humanity wasn't "green" enough. Like you pointed out, it seems to be more because of the human heart and the effects of sin. Because of our callousness, greed and love of pleasure amongst many other things.

I guess I don’t get the point of the article. Were there people out there who said the whole of global warming could be stopped with trees? Everything I’ve heard called for a broad range of incentives, including reforestation, but not exclusively reforestation. Changing our reliance on fossil fuels, penalizing corporations for not being environmentally minded, legislation of environmental standards in manufacturing... About 100 other things along with it.
