I was really down lately , low energy, poor spirit, and I felt the devil was attacking me. this morning I started weeping secretly. And I tried to pray but it didn't stop. Until this afternoon, this thought came to me that God can satisfy my deepest desire, and he will give the best thing for me and I Felt so released and calm down

I just felt it might be valuable to discuss this .is there dreams and desires in your heart the devil is stealing from you?how did you resist the devil?

    Concentrate on the Good.

    Let others worry about evil.

The ultimate Good consists of the ultimately Right, The ultimately True, the ultimately Kind, and Brave, and Just, and Noble, and Gracious, and Generous, and Fair, etc. Select your own list of absolutes. Consider these things, and forget evil, altogether. It cannot spiritually harm you while you are so engaged.

As for feeling down, to the point of uncontrollable tears, I have been there, too. Several times. In my experience, it's a stress thing, that often arises out of a dissonance between where you are, and where your conscience and nature insists you ought to be.

Whatever, I hope you resolve your issues, satisfactorily.

    Best wishes, Strivax.

We are not responsible either for our dreams, which happen while we are unconscious, or our desires, for we will always have material concerns. They both arise simply from having a body. The issue is, can we control them? If so, we are our own masters, captains of our fates. If not, we are mere flotsam and jetsam, adrift in the sea of humanity that comprises the world.

The way I have found, that works for me, is to consider ultimate virtue, and try to discover what it is*, and strive for it, which is incidentally just another route to God, who is, of course, ultimately virtuous.

    Best wishes, Strivax.

*Scriptures notwithstanding, I am not persuaded humanity yet knows this!

I have struggled a lot and still struggle. God knows.

As I have free time, too much, and that could be de Devil's workshop, I write poems about Jesus or what comes to mind, pain, struggle, what I feel. I have around 200 in a short period of time. I play poorly the guitar and sing poorly too. But I have written songs to praise the Lord, sing them and record them.

I compose some images when I can in Adobe Illustrator, mostly geometrical.

I try to give praise and occupy my time and mind despite the pain and sorrow I have felt and feel. I pray the rosary, although I know many people would not agree with this practice. I do everything I can with what I have got.

And sometimes the pain is excruciating and very intense that I don't know whether I'm on the earth or already in hell. But I keep on doing everything I can, even a drawing.

For example, I don't know how to draw, but I draw a Rock that looks more like a mountain and got a tattoo of it say Sl 18:3.

The image on my avatar I drew it. I try to do good things. I give donations when I have the money (because I have no job).

    That's it.
May God help you in Jesus name sheamiao.

Well, lately I have been doing self-improvement and character building. I recently did a study on the character of Jesus Christ, you know, how to be more Christ-like. I feel it helps me combat sin in my life.

    Dos this answer help?

"How did you resist the devil?"

The Bible says in James 4:5-7:

"He jealously desires the Spirit which He has made to dwell in us"? But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says, " God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.". Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you."

The devil is the accuser of the brethren and is a liar. He will always be trying to bother and undermine you. The way to combat this is to worship God by thanking Him and singing aloud praising HIm. The Bible tells of a story where Godly men went out for battle but sang to God first. This caused the enemy army to go into confusion and they started fighting and thus killing each other! This was a real live illustration of how our worship singing to God causes the devil and/or his demons to go into confusion and how their evil plans are thwarted.

It sounds silly to say singing is one of the the answers to our discouragement but the Bible shows that praising God does more than just make noise.

Thank God for what He has done for you in the past and thank Him for what you're trusting Him to do for you in the future. The Bible says that God is always working on our behalf. All the time and even when we can't see it. That God's plans will be done in the end. The enemy can't stop that.

So remember that the devil is a liar and wants to wear you down, he is the accuser of the brethren.

Also remember that we are called to hold the shield of faith. Faith protects us. The Bible says that without faith it is impossible to please God so of course the devil wants us to to doubt and be discouraged. You can resist the devil by building up your faith by remembering how God has been faithful to you in the past. It honors God, resists the devil and boosts your faith which pleases God.

I have dreams of returning to school and living in a apartment again. I had to leave my apartment when I was sick. I feel the devil stole that dream from me because I was very sick for a long time. I would love to return to school and get to live on my own again. I currently live with my family and do not attend school. My prayers is that God will restore my dream.

Everyday of my life I think about my drinking and drugging. It haunts me, but I find with a positive mindset and the proper tools with me, I will fear no evil. Of course I have an extremely tough time being positive all the time but I constantly work at it.

I know my issues are far different than your own, but on the same page as per feelings.

2 Corinthians 12:9 "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

I am sorry you have been feeling down. I noticed that this was posted nearly a year ago. I hope that God has been comforting you with his presence throughout this time.

I like to keep busy so that I don't have time to feel down. I pray to God and read the bible even during the times when I don't feel like it. I listen to Christian music, read, surf on the net, and go for long walks.
