Can't say I started out thinking this way about singleness and contentment. When I was college age and just after, of course I wanted to marry.
And I don't think there was one moment when things switched from dissatisfaction to some measure of contentment. And, of course, it's not like contentment is always perfect.
But it has happened to some degree, and I'm grateful for it. I can see the wisdom in what Paul wrote about the good of not being distracted by marriage.
Contentment may be a difficult virtue to get a grasp of, so much in what we see and hear every day is against it, but it is something that's good to find and keep.
