Context is important - if your talking about your wife or boss, ignoring may not be a good idea.

I had a context in mind, but perhaps it would be better if I didn't clarify. If you are married, I suppose you should be in the habit of saying, "Yes, dear," and if it is your boss, "Yes, sir," or, "Yes, ma'am."

Not knowing your rules, I debated whether to put it in the Current News and Events Forum or General Politics Forum. It was meant to be a political statement.

When I placed it in the news forum, I expected people to understand what I was saying.

I am thinking about people who will criticize Donald Trump no matter what he does.

For the most part, I've been staying away from the political forums. I don't enjoy the never-ending arguments. Still, sometimes I feel I must make a statement. However, a little tact can be helpful.

I think the deeper meaning behind complaining is that people feel that their image/ego/will is being ignored and they don't like it so they try and force others to feed it.
Yes, the best approach is to ignore it. What complainers need is for someone to love them. Being kind and gentle with them along side of ignoring or downplaying their issues is what we should do.
