dad dishonestly editing a post where the answer to your question was edited out by you is very close to lying.

You as much as admitted that were wrong by being so dishonest.

He also edited the post about people killing themselves. I suspect in the case of that one he realized his original wording was NOT what he intended. He intended in my case to make a larger point about some unrelated group of people for some reason that still evades me. He put it in a post aimed at me and it could easily be interpreted to be aimed at me, even if he didn't necessarily intend it that way.

In some cases editing a post after the fact to improve clarity can be a helpful approach. And in this case Dad clearly stepped up to the plate to clarify his point.
