With Easter in view, the deep meaning of this song
floods my spirit, and comforts me as much today as
the day the Lord first led me to search the title I'd
never heard before. His love grips my heart, and
forever seals my faith. May you find new strength
in the love of God this Easter season.

The words:
COMFORT YE MY PEOPLE, LAMB (Joel Chernoff, Rick Coghill)

No more will you turn to another for help
Nor will you turn to yourself, to yourself
Nor will you say, "My God" to some other
For in Me you'll find mercy

I will heal your wrong ways
I will love you so freely
You will dwell beneath my shadow
I will be as the dew to my people
And they will blossom as the lily

Your beauty will be like the olive tree
Your fragrance as Lebanon, Lebanon
You will live as a well watered garden
And you will flourish like the vine

I will heal your wrong ways
I will love you so freely
You will dwell beneath my shadow
I will be as the dew to my people
And they will blossom as the lily

Comfort ye my people,
Comfort ye my people,
Comfort ye my people..

Isaiah 26:12-13
LORD, thou wilt ordain peace for us: for Thou
also hast wrought all our works in us.

O LORD our God, lords beside thee have had
dominion over us: by Thee only will we make
mention of Thy name.

Hosea 14:4-7~
*I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for
Mine anger is turned away from him.

*I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the
lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon.

*His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as
the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon.

*They that dwell under his shadow shall return;
they shall revive as the corn, and grow as the
vine: the scent thereof shall be as the wine of
Lebanon.

Though this is Israel's promise, in the New Covenant
there is neither Jew, nor Greek... but one new man, in
Christ Jesus.

Isaiah 58:6-12 (highlighting vs 11)

And the LORD shall guide thee continually , and
satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy
bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden,
and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned ...
Amen...love Isaiah 40.

'Speak ye comfortably' can literally be translated as saying,
'Speak to the heart'. What a comfort for Israel to know her
Babylonian captivity and warfare was over, and God pardoned
the iniquity.

For believers today, it is a comfort to the heart to know Jesus
has finished our warfare, and we stand victorious in His victory.

Charis, I am 20 years old and I would like your counsel.
We live in a world of freedom; I am a student athlete living at home with my parents in my third year of college. I know that I have blessings that others do not - and I can say with confidence that I could do without them. I am grateful for what I have but I don't feel as if I am deeply integrated with the life I am living.

I know I am important, I know I was created to praise God, I know I am part of the family, I know many things with confidence; yet - what troubles me the most is myself...

I know what has been done for me - yet I feel unable to commit to anything in this life. I feel as if my mind always attacks me with suggestions of "If heaven is waiting for you; why are you going to school to learn about exercise - this body will burn up and you will live forever in heaven."

Also things like;
"You have so much free time and what you're doing with it isn't productive enough; you aren't acting as if you really value your life."

I struggle with these thoughts - They come and, praise the Lord, they go too. Will we ever escape these thinking patterns or is that just a requirement for life on Earth? A stage of growing up?

I thank you for your time.
