How could the Sabbath be salvational when the whole covenant was not?

The 4th commandment is one of God's ten commandments if you read the posts above you would see God's Law (10 commandments) is not for salvation or forgiveness of sin. It was the standard of SIN and RIGHTEOUSNESS. The knowledge of good and evil, showing our duty of LOVE to God (commandments 1-4) and man (commandments 5-10). It brings with it the death penalty for anyone who breaks it (Romans 6:23).

The salvational part of the Old Covenant were the Mosaic laws written written in the book of the covenant for remission of sins which were shadows pointing to Jesus. These were all pointing to Jesus and fulfilled in the New Covenant. God's people in the Old and New Covenants, have always had the same requirements for salvation and that is Faith (Hebrews 11)

God's Law however is forever and remains the standard of SIN and RIGHTEOUSNESS if we break it we commit SIN.

The Law of God (10 commandments) which includes the 4th commandment is the work of God (Exodus 32:16) whatsoever God does is forever nothing can be added to it or taken away (Ecclesiastes 3:14). God's Law is perfect converting the soul (Psalms 19:7). It is the very standard of the Old and New Covenants (Exodus 20:1:17, Hebrews 8:10-12). God's Law was spoken by God himself to His people (Exodus 20:1-22). Jesus says Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away (Matthew 25:35). Gods Law is still in force today (Psalms 111:7-8, Revelation 12:17, 14:12, 22:14, 1 John 3:5-8, 1 John 2:3-4 etc.). The Law of God reveals sin to us so we can see ourselves as we truly are sinners in need of a Saviour (Romans 3:20; 1 John 3:4). It is the great standard of the judgement (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14, James 2:10-12, 1 John 3:4, Acts 17:31). God's Law is our teacher revealing sin and the character of God and brings us to Christ at the foot of the cross that we might be saved by faith by Him who loves us and washed us in His own blood (Galatians 3:24; Revelation 1:5).

If we anyone is living a life of known UNREPENTANT SIN they are not in a saved state before God and if they do not repent and seek God's forgiveness WILL not enter God's Kingdom.

For example God's Word says...........

Hebrews 10
26
, For IF WE SIN WILLFULLY AFTER THAT WE HAVE RECEIVED A KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH, THERE REMAINS NO MORE SACRIFICE FOR SINS,
27, BUT A FEARFUL LOOKING FOR OF JUDGEMENT AND FIERY INDIGNATION, WHICH SHALL DEVOUR THE ADVERSARIES.

Hebrews 6
4
, For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
7, For the earth which drinks in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and brings forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:
8, But that which bears thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

1 John 2:2-4
3,
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4, He that saith, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1 John 3:3-10
3,
And every man that hath this hope in him purifies himself, even as he is pure.
4, Whosoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
5, And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
6, Whosoever abides in him sins not: whosoever sins hath not seen him, neither known him.
7, Little children, let no man deceive you: he that does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8, He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9, Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10, In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever does not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loves not his brother.

Psalms 1
5,
Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6, For the LORD knows the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

2 Peter 2
3,
And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingers not, and their damnation slumbers not.
4, For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
5, And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
6, And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an example unto those that after should live ungodly;
7, And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:

Jude 1
14,
And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
15, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

Ecclesiastes 12
13,
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14, For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Isaiah 1
28,
And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the LORD shall be consumed.

Isaiah 13
9,
Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.

Isaiah 33
14,
The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?
15, He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;
16, He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.

Proverb 8
36, But he that sins against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death

Ezekiel 18
4,
Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.
20, The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
21, But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
22, All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.
23, Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?
24, But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.
25, Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal?
26, When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.
27, Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.
28, Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
29, Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal?
30, Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
31, Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
32, For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves , and live ye.

Proverbs 28
9, He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.

Ezekiel 33
10,
Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live?
11, Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
12, Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.
13, When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.
14, Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;
15 , I f the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.
16, None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.

Romans 6
23,
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we break any one of the ten we stand guilty before God of SIN (James 2:8-11) and need to repent and seek his forgiveness (Proverbs 28:13; 1 John 2:1; 1 John 1:9). Those that continue a life in known unrepentant sin will not enter into God's Kingdom (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

May God bless you as you seek him through His Word.

And it all came to an end at the Cross an d verified by the Apostle Paul in 2Cor3:7-11
What came to an end?

Let’s look at the rest of the chapter?

2 CORINTHIANS 3
v6, Who also hath made us able ministers of the New Testament (Covenant); not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter kills, but the spirit giveth life.
v7, But if the ministration of death, written and graven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away.
v8, How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?
v9, For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.
v10, For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth.
v11, For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious.
v12, Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:
v13, And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:
v14, But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
v15, But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
16, Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.
17, Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Lets’ put it all together….

v6-7 What is the ministration of death graven in stone? It is God’s Law (10 commandments; Exodus 20:1-17; 31:18; 32:16). Why were they called the ministration of death? Because God’s Law (10 commandments) give the knowledge of sin and righteousness but makes nothing perfect (James 2:11; 1 John 3:4; Romans 3:20; 7:7; Hebrews 7:19 ). God’s Law only shows what sin is and if broken, the penalty for sin is death (Romans 6:23). v8-10 It was to teach us that we are all sinners in need of a saviour and that all the world may become guilty before God (Romans 3:10; 19; Isaiah 64:6). It leads us to Christ that we might be justified by faith (Galatians 3:24; Romans 3:28). v10-17 The glory of the one passes to the glory of the other (Law to Christ). They both work together to bring the sinner to salvation. It is the glory of the one (God’s Law) that points to the Glory of the other because God’s Law leads the sinner to the Saviour (Galatian 3:24-25). The glory has been done away not God’s Law. God’s Law is perfect and is forever but makes nothing perfect it is the knowledge of good and evil; sin and righteousness (Ecclesiastes 3:14) but makes nothing perfect. Faith that works by love through walking in the Spirit is the new ministration when someone is born again. This is the new covenant of the one written on stone (Old Covenant) to the promise of God's Law being written in the heart by LOVE (Hebrews 8:10-12; Romans 13:8-10; James 2:9-12).

This is the difference between the true Gospel and the counterfeit. The counterfeit Gospel is one that tries to separate God’s Law from the cross but without God’s Law no one has the knowledge of good and evil; sin and righteousness (James 2:11; 1 John 3:4; Romans 3:20; 7:7; Hebrews 7:19).

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

May God bless you as you seek him through His Word.
Hello LGW.

You said.
God's Law however is forever and remains the standard of SIN and RIGHTEOUSNESS if we break it we commit SIN.
Have you not read this verse.

Romans 8:2
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.

We are no longer under that power or law of sin and death. So even if you do sin and anyone who says they don't is a liar, the death penalty no longer applies.

Hello David,

Believers are not under the law of sin and death because they have been forgiven (1 John 1:9). Those that are continuing in a life of known UNREPENTANT sin are walking in the flesh and not the Spirit and cannot please God (Romans 8:8). God says those that continue in SIN have neither seen him or know him (1 John 3:6-9)

God bless

Hello LGW.
So even if you do sin and anyone who says they don't is a liar, the death penalty no longer applies.

So David, in your view is someone who is professing to be a Christian who is living a life of known UNREPENTANT SIN in a saved state before God, or an unsaved state?

Hello LGW.

Romans 8:2
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.

We have been set free from the sentence of death that sin imposes.

1 John 3:9
No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Believers are not under the law of sin and death because they have been forgiven (1 John 1:9).
Correct, that is what I said above.
Those that are continuing in a life of known UNREPENTANT sin are walking in the flesh and not the Spirit and cannot please God (Romans 8:8).
Correct again.

Romans 8:9
However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.

If you have the Holy Spirit, then you will be purified over time of all sin.
God says those that continue in SIN have neither seen him or know him (1 John 3:6-9)
More than likely they never knew God, never seen or known Him.
God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11)
Correct.
If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12).
A Gentile cannot break that fourth commandment because a Gentile is not under the law.

Galatians 5:18
But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.

Gentiles are not judged according to the law, Gentiles are judged apart from the law.

Romans 2:12
For all who have sinned without the Law will also perish without the Law.

Further, Gentile Christians do not undergo judgement.

John 5:24
Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)
Sunday worship has nothing to do with this subject, Sunday worship is not a sin, whether under law or without the law.

Deut. 12:30
You must not worship the LORD your God the way the other nations worship their gods, for they perform for their gods every detestable act that the LORD hates. They even burn their sons and daughters as sacrifices to their gods.

Do you know why Sunday is called Sunday?

Hello Hark.

You quoted the following verse.
Deut. 12:30
You must not worship the LORD your God the way the other nations worship their gods, for they perform for their gods every detestable act that the LORD hates. They even burn their sons and daughters as sacrifices to their gods.
What has this got to do with worshiping Jesus on any day of the week?

If someone at church sacrificed their child during the service, then I would have an issue with that.
Do you know why Sunday is called Sunday?
The Roman name for that day, the day of the sun.

Did you know that Saturday is Saturn's day?

Hark is right David. We can worship God everyday but God has made the 4th commandment, the 7th day Sabbath a Holy day that no work is to be done (Exodus 20:8-11). Many are worshiping God in a way he has not asked them to and following other nations.

The Roman name for that day, the day of the sun.

Did you know that Saturday is Saturn's day?

YHWH's children keep the Sabbath as YHWH commands. It begins at sundown on day that the Pagan calendar calls Friday.

Exodus 31
12 YAHWEH said to Moshe, 13 Tell the people of Isra’el, ‘You are to observe my Shabbats;
for this is a sign between me and you through all your generations
; so that you will know
that I am YAHWEH, who sets you apart for me. 17 It is a sign between me and the people
of Isra’el forever; for in six days ADONAI made heaven and earth, but on the seventh day he
stopped working and rested.’

Hebrews 4:11

Therefore, while the promise of entering His rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be deemed to have fallen short of it

Sun Day worship goes back to Babylon.

Constantine decreed (March 7, 321) dies Solis—day of the sun, "Sunday"—as the Roman day of rest
just prior to the Council of Nicaea:

“On the venerable day of the Sun let the magistrates and people residing in cities rest, and let
all workshops be closed. In the country however persons engaged in agriculture may freely and
lawfully continue their pursuits because it often happens that another day is not suitable for
grain-sowing or vine planting; lest by neglecting the proper moment for such operations the
bounty of heaven should be lost.”

Christians must not judaize by resting on the Sabbath, but must work on that day, rather
honouring the Lord's Day; and, if they can, resting then as Christians. But if any shall be found to
be judaizers, let them be anathema from Christ. (Canon 29 [A.D. 360]). (The Church
Council of Laodicea circa 364 CE)

"The Church, on the other hand, after changing the day of rest from the Jewish Sabbath, or seventh day of the week, to the first, made the Third (fourth) Commandment refer to Sunday as the day to be kept holy as the Lord's Day." The Catholic Encyclopedia Topic: Ten Commandments, 2nd paragraph

"We have made the change from the seventh day to the first day, from Saturday to Sunday, on the
authority of the one holy, catholic, apostolic church of Christ."--Episcopalian Bishop Seymour said in
"Why We Keep Sunday."

Constantine was the High Priest of the sungod Sol Invictus (invincible sun) and his coins remained inscribed “Sol Invicto Comiti” or “committed to the unconquered/invincible sun” to the day he died.

Hello LGW.

You need to read my post again.
All the scriptures are great but they only apply to those that believe and follow God's Word.
Here is what I posted.

Romans 2:12
For all who have sinned without the Law will also perish without the Law.

Your saying that the scripture I posted only applied to believers, not so.
If you have known unrepentant sin in your life God's Word says you are not following him and do not know him (1 John 3:3-10) and have hot received God's Holy Spirit (Acts 5:32). Are you saying that Gentile believers can live a life of unrepentant sin and still be a part of God's Kingdom? You do know right that God only gives his Holy Spirit to those who obey him right? (Acts 2:38; 3:19: Acts 5:32)
Your quotations do not support what you are saying, here is one of them.

Acts 2:38
Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Peter is not saying, repent become as pure as the driven snow, and some time in the future you will receive the Holy Spirit. Peter is saying, believe in Jesus for the forgiveness of your sins and receive the Holy Spirit.

The word repent means a turn around in your thinking in this verse (Acts 2:38).
I noticed you did not answer the question. So David, in your view is someone who is professing to be a Christian who is living a life of known UNREPENTANT SIN in a saved state before God, or an unsaved state?
Your salvation is not based on your ability to repent, your salvation is a gift, granted to you by the grace of God. I do not believe that anyone is ever perfect, in regards to their ability to stop sinning.

Anyone who does not admit to sinning is a liar.

1 John 1:10
If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.

The scripture clearly says that you cannot claim to be sinless.

Nearly all the sin you will ever commit is willful sin. All the sin you commit is constantly repeated throughout your life. That is why asking for forgiveness is a huge part of our lives.

Are you claiming that you have no sin?

Are you claiming that your sin is never willful sin?
We are talking about breaking God's commandments and unrepentant SIN. If we break any of God's commandments we commit sin. This includes the 4th commandment which is one of the ten. (James 2:8-12)
Sin is much more than breaking a few written laws.

Sin is disobedience to the clear instruction of God, like it or not.

Anything you think or do, and that means anything, that is not of faith, is sin!

Do you honestly believe that you can be a worldly person and still be saved?

Hello Hark.

A scrambled reply.
YHWH's children keep the Sabbath as YHWH commands. It begins at sundown on day that the Pagan calendar calls Friday.
The Sabbath is calculated from the new moon, if I remember from the text.
Exodus 31
12 YAHWEH said to Moshe, 13 Tell the people of Isra’el, ‘You are to observe my Shabbats;
for this is a sign between me and you through all your generations
; so that you will know
that I am YAHWEH, who sets you apart for me. 17 It is a sign between me and the people
of Isra’el forever; for in six days ADONAI made heaven and earth, but on the seventh day he
stopped working and rested.’
Yes Hark, Israel was commanded to obey the Sabbath, not the Gentile nations.
Hebrews 4:11
Therefore, while the promise of entering His rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be deemed to have fallen short of it

Hebrews 4
3 For we who have believed enter that rest...

Hebrews 4
10 For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works...

There is a bit more context for your verse from Hebrews.

Only those who believe will enter that rest. You must give up your own works of legal obedience to enter that rest.
Sun Day worship goes back to Babylon.
Sunday as a day of worship is the day that Christ was witnessed by the apostles. We celebrate the risen Christ.
Constantine decreed (March 7, 321) dies Solis—day of the sun, "Sunday"—as the Roman day of rest just prior to the Council of Nicaea:
Sunday was already being practiced before Constantine had his say.
“On the venerable day of the Sun let the magistrates and people residing in cities rest, and letall workshops be closed. In the country however persons engaged in agriculture may freely and lawfully continue their pursuits because it often happens that another day is not suitable for grain-sowing or vine planting; lest by neglecting the proper moment for such operations the bounty of heaven should be lost.”
As I said before, Christian history has Sunday worship before Constantine.
Christians must not judaize by resting on the Sabbath, but must work on that day, rather honouring the Lord's Day; and, if they can, resting then as Christians. But if any shall be found to be judaizers, let them be anathema from Christ. (Canon 29 [A.D. 360]). (The Church Council of Laodicea circa 364 CE)
I repeat, Christians were worshiping on Sunday way before Constantine.

Your knowledge of early Christian history is missing.
This never happened, the church never had the Sabbath commandment.

The early Jewish believers honored the Sabbath because they only knew the law.

We find the Gentiles gathered to break bread on the first day, because the Gentiles were not born under the law.

Hello David,

Some comments for you below. The whole conversation (confused part) is posted in here for ease of access so there should not be any confusion on what is being said or not said....................

Your original post....................
Hello LGW.
Romans 8:2
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. We have been set free from the sentence of death that sin imposes.

1 John 3:9
No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. Correct, that is what I said above.

More than likely they never knew God, never seen or known Him.

Correct.

Sunday worship has nothing to do with this subject, Sunday worship is not a sin, whether under law or without the law.

You need the authentic Gospel of Jesus Christ and the indwelling Holy Spirit, that is the foundation doctrine of Christianity.

My reply................

Your current reply ............
Hello LGW.
You need to read my post again. Here is what I posted.
Romans 2:12 For all who have sinned without the Law will also perish without the Law.
Your saying that the scripture I posted only applied to believers, not so.

Just so there is no confusion. I am not sure why you only post above the 2nd last text in your original post and leave out all the others I was referring to and post the 2nd last text in your first original post above.

When I said the scriptures are referring to "BELIEVERS" I was referring to the first 4 texts of your original post and your last scripture in your original post; That is 5/6 of your scriptures in post # 1687 (linked). So there is no confusion I was referring to Romans 8:2; 1 John 3:9; Romans 8:9; Galatians 5:18; John 5:24.
Your quotations do not support what you are saying, here is one of them. Acts 2:38 Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Your salvation is not based on your ability to repent, your salvation is a gift, granted to you by the grace of God. I do not believe that anyone is ever perfect, in regards to their ability to stop sinning.
The scriptures that have been provided absolutely support what has been provided earlier. Acts 2:38; 3:19: Acts 5:32 clearly state that repentance and obedience to God's Law is the per-requisite of receiving the Holy Spirit. Repentance is a per-requisite for forgiveness of sin the same as confession of sin (Proverbs 28:13; 1 John 1:9; Luke 24:47). Salvation is indeed is also a gift of God (Ephesians 2:8-9) as we believe and follow God's Word (John 3:18-21; James 2:17; 20; 26).

Our salvation is from SIN not in SIN and it only happens as we have faith and believe and follow God’s Word as we ABIDE IN HIM by WALKING BY FAITH in HIS SPIRIT. You cannot separate love from obedience because on these two commandments (of LOVE) hang all the law and the prophets (Matthew 22:36-40; Roman 13:10-12; James 1:22; James 3:8-12)

Repentance is indeed turning away from SIN and of course it means a change of mind because that is where SIN starts. SIN starts in the mind and it is here we need to first start turning away from it because we first sin in the mind before it becomes action.

That is why Jesus says…………….

Matthew 15:19-20

19, For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: 20, These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

Ezekiel 18
30
, Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent <H7725; Turn away from evil>, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions <H6588; SIN>; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.

31, Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
32, For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.

We have to seek God for a change of heart to turn away from sin this is repentance (Hebrew and Greek meanings; H7725 and G3340 for repent; repentance).

Matthew 3
8, Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:

Repentance; Greek meaning; G3341; From G3340; (subjectively) compunction for guilt, including reformation; by implication reversal (of [another's] decision): - repentance.

Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament, Thayer - G3341
G3341 — μετάνοια
μετανοίας, ἡ (μετανοέω), a change of mind: as it appears in one who repents of a purpose he has formed or of something he has done, Heb 12:17 on which see εὑρίσκω, 3 ((Thucydides 3, 36, 3); Polybius 4, 66, 7; Plutarch, Peric c. 10; mor., p. 26 a.; τῆς ἀδελφοκτονιας μετάνοια, Josephus, Antiquities 13, 11, 3); especially the change of mind of those who have begun to abhor their errors and misdeeds, and have determined to enter upon a better course of life, so that it embraces both a recognition of sin and sorrow for it and hearty amendment, the tokens and effects of which are good deeds (Lactantius, 6, 24, 6 would have it rendered in Latin byresipiscentia) (A. V. repentance)

Obedience is the fruit of Faith if we have no fruit we show ourselves as UNBELIVERS and do not know God………….

Matthew 7
16
, Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17, Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18, A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19, Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20, Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

So the question is indeed a valid one and that is………..

If someone is living a life in unrepentant sin are they in a saved state before God or an unsaved state?

No one seems to want to answer this question but God’s Word already answers this question………..

The answer is NO! Someone that is living in a life of known unrepentant SIN is NOT IN A SAVED STATE BEFORE GOD!

What happened to the World in the days of Noah and Sodom and Gomorrah?

THEY WERE DESTROYED BECAUSE OF UNREPENTANT SIN………………..

Genesis 6
5
, And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6, And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
7, And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
8, But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
9, These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God
.

Hebrews 10
26, For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Hebrews 6
4, For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

3, And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4, He that saith, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1 John 3:3-10
3, And every man that hath this hope in him purifies himself, even as he is pure.

Psalms 1
5, Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6, For the LORD knows the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

2 Peter 2
3, And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingers not, and their damnation slumbers not.
4, For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
5, And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
6, And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an example unto those that after should live ungodly;
7, And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:

Jude 1
14, And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
15, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

Ecclesiastes 12
13, Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14, For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Isaiah 1
28, And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the LORD shall be consumed.

Isaiah 13
9, Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.

Isaiah 33
14, The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?
15, He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;
16, He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.

Proverb 8
36, But he that sins against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death

Ezekiel 18
4, Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

Ezekiel 33
10, Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live?
14, Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;
15 , I f the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.
16, None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.

Romans 6
23, For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

So yes David there is a lot of scripture that supports what I have presented. Known unrepentant SIN will keep you out of God's Kingdom.....................

Hello LGW.

What a confusing mess this thread has become.

Now let's get this straight.
When I said the scriptures are referring to "BELIEVERS" I was referring to the first 4 texts of your original post and your last scripture in your original post;
You originally said all of my quotations applied to believers not eighty percent of them.

Now for the verses you quoted incorrectly.
The scriptures that have been provided absolutely support what has been provided earlier. Acts 2:38; 3:19: Acts 5:32 clearly state that repentance and obedience to God's Law is the per-requisite of receiving the Holy Spirit.
As I said before, Acts 2:38, does not say anything about obedience to the law.

Acts 2:38
Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

This verse (Acts 2:38) is talking about a change of mind, because on that same day many turned to the Lord.

Are you saying on that one day, all these people stopped sinning? Your trying to say, that these people became perfect law keepers and then turned to Jesus in that one day, impossible.

The meaning of the word, 'repent', in Acts 2:38.

Using your quotation.

Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament, Thayer - G3341
G3341 — μετάνοια μετανοίας, ἡ (μετανοέω), a change of mind...

These people only needed to change their mindset regarding Jesus Christ. They only needed to believe in Jesus. That is why I said earlier that you have not heard the primary Gospel, you have been given the alternate gospel.

You cannot claim that thousands of people repented of sin on that one day.

I will ask you for the second time LGW.

Do you still sin?

Is your sin repetitive sin?

Try and keep your posts short and concise, otherwise the reply will be enormous.

Hello LGW.
What a confusing mess this thread has become.
Now let's get this straight.
You originally said all of my quotations applied to believers not eighty percent of them.

Hello David, the thread is not confused at all. If you are confused about our CURRENT conversation, I posted everything WE have CURRENTLY discussed in post # 1697 so that you can see everything that we have both said for easy reference. Everything is there for all to see and it is very easy to follow.

I am not sure why you are confused. You can read the above post which does NOT say I was referring to ALL the scriptures you quoted. To make sure there was no misunderstanding I also said in the post above I was referring to 5/6 scriptures you quoted. So pretty clear I think.

Now in your current post you are only repeating everything you said earlier that I have addressed very clearly in post # 1697 with a LOT of scripture. Now just repeating what you said earlier does not address my current post to you and does not make all the supporting scripture I have provided in that post go away.

Please by all means comment on my post above in post # 1697 and all the scriptures provided that support what I am sharing with you. Do you have anything new to add to the conversation?

Also I am very happy to answer your questions but I see you still have not answered mine. So if you are happy to answer my earlier questions I will answer yours. Here they are again for your convenience.

1. Is someone professing to be a Christian living a life of known UNREPENTANT SIN in a SAVED state before God or an UNSAVED state before God?

2. Where in God's Word does it say that God's 4th commandment has been ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day?

Since I asked these question first it is only courtesy to answer them first before we move on further in our discussion.

The Sabbath is calculated from the new moon, if I remember from the text.

Shalom Klutedavid,

I suspect that your memory has failed you. I believe you are talking about the new month. The moon doesn't go through its' phases, evenly divisible by seven, into whole numbers.

There is an easy way to remember when YHWH's new month begins. (new MOON-th)

More to come....Just got home.
