Absolutely unbelievable. Can you imagine the shrieks of outrage and the liberal meltdown if a corporation told its black employees that they need to be "less black"? This country has completely lost its collective mind.
Coke Conducting Employee Seminars ‘To Be Less White’ | KABC-AM

I wonder if it should have been "More Colored"?
More Cola-like, less Lemon-Lime I bet was the original directive.
NPR has gone with "More Urban" and has greatly increased
it's use of Hip-Hop and Rap and city-focused stories.
I live in the city. I don't need more Urban on my radio.
I can roll down the windows for that.

How do you be less white? Spray tan? That didn't do much good for Trump!

Or do they mean act less like a white person? But isn't that cultural appropriation? Oh man it's such a minefield!

It's interesting how racial activists argue there's a serious problem with white supremacy, yet in a company as large and powerful as Coke they have a course which discriminates against white people and stereotypes them into specific categories. How exactly does one become less white? Do they start appropriating aspects of other racial cultures, in which case aren't they then guilty of cultural appropriation, another sin of our 'liberal' era?

One wonders and I mean truly wonders that if there is such a culture of white supremacy in the USA, why aren't major companies and the powers at be encouraging this sort of thing for blacks? Why is it okay for white people to be targeted in this fashion but if there was a hint of this for blacks there would be a national uproar by the media establishment.

Makes you think. Mind you, leftists don't care about this, because they aren't concerned with treatment or fairness.

“To be less white is to: Be less oppressive, be less arrogant, be less certain, be less defensive, be less ignorant, be more humble, listen, believe, break with apathy, break with white solidarity,” a slide from the presentation says.

I read it simply as being open to other points of view. I work with a voice communications system that "assumes" people call each other by first and last name. However, where I work, which is heavily military and southern, everyone is called "Mr. Last Name" or "Mizz / Mrs / Miss Last Name". So I have to train people to learn each others first names. Not as easy as it sounds. It would have been a lot easier if my system could work with last names easier.

Forgive me, but I don't see why white people are more oppressive, arrogant, certain, defensive, and ignorant than anyone else. I am completely all of these things a shamefully large amount of the time (Lord have mercy!), but I fail to see what that has to do with being white. Isn't that just being a fallen human being?

I don't see why those things should be made synonymous with whiteness. So far as my understanding goes people from all ethinic backgrounds are guilty of those things, because we all inherit the sinful tendency from Adam. I don't understand why it has to be racialised. I'm all for telling people to be more humble, to listen more, to believe, to break with apathy, and break with tribal solidarities of all kinds, but why does that have to be done whilst denegrating white people and making race an indicator for vice or virue? Not only that but isn't this weird implied purity of other races by comparison also patronizing and ultimately racist? Are they really angels that we need to bow down to in our wretched state, or are they just humans like us all?

I read it simply as being open to other points of view.

Then why didn't they have a program that trains all employees - white, black, Latino, Asian, Indigenous, straight, gay, Christian, Muslim, and atheist - to "simply be open to other points of view."

But that's not what they did. They want to follow the tenets of Critical Race Theory and teach that all, 100%, of white people are oppressive, arrogant, ignorant, and supporters of white solidarity and supremacy.

What they are teaching and what you are interpreting it to mean are two entirely and drastically different things.

Yes, I believe that all people need to be open to the lives, points of views, and importance of others unlike themselves. To treat others with dignity and respect even if they live and believe differently than you.

But for Coca-Cola teaching that white people are ALL evil and that evil is whiteness is stupid.

I dream of a world where my bi-racial children won't have to hear bad things about either part of them, their black or white side. This is absolutely sickening. I don't care what the context is or anything. Telling someone to be less "thing outside of their control" is wrong.

I hope every white employee shows up chugging a bottle of ranch dressing.

I almost want to apply to work there just so I can come in chugging ranch and chasing it with Pepsi

A lot of it is because where I now work, "I" am the minority. I'm a white guy, a civilian and a Yankee to boot. I'm in a female dominated industry, where most everyone has military service, and in the south. Just being a civilian here is an oddity with 16 military bases within 20 miles and the largest concentration of military personnel in the US. The five formal cities in the region are in the top 10 highest percentage of military retirees in the US. Right there, that labels someone who never served as an outsider. I've learned that the biases that I have from growing up in an upper middle class community in the mid-west do not apply here. So I'm learning to be humble, to listen and to try to lay my internal biases aside.

This is a problem everyone faces. Not just white people.

For me its been the first time I havent worked in a white male dominated group. I really became aware of what my natural biases have become.

this is pretty much what is on display in this thread
Sure, but it's not an exclusively Caucasian set of traits.

My objection isn't with the implication that I am any of these things. It's that I am any of those things because of the colour of my skin. There is a word for someone who decides your virtue or lack of it by the colour of your skin.

Demoralizing people erodes morale and causes people to retreat, surrender or defect.

It's time to start reading Sun Tzu...

Standing on the defensive indicates insufficient strength; attacking, a superabundance of strength.

It’s psychological warfare. Racism provides an excellent cover for ominous attacks. The directives echo the plight of one group while disenfranchising the other.

This is a take down. The intentional dismantling of the culture to make room for the one to come.
