1 Peter 5:5. Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you
be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

How does walking in the Spirit lead us to the place of being "clothed with humility"?
Considering first how Christ modeled our behavior.

Isaiah 53:7. He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth;
He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers remained silent,
so He opened not His mouth.

Revelation 16:15. Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and
keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.

humility is like a winter coat that you left in the car over a cold winter's night. when you grab it in the morning and first put it on, its so cold its uncomfortable; but if you keep it on ('be clothed with it'), eventually it will warm you up :)

walking after the Spirit puts your focus on Him; walking after the flesh puts your focus on yourself; the former leads to humility, the latter leads to pride - it's all about what you focus on :)

Like fire and ice. :)
1 Peter 4:
12
Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though
some strange thing happened to you;
13 but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed,
you may also be glad with exceeding joy.
14 If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God
rests upon you.

Amen!

and when the going gets tough, the wise agree:

(1Jn 5:1) Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
(1Jn 5:2) By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
(1Jn 5:3) For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
(1Jn 5:4) For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
(1Jn 5:5) Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

Isaiah 53:7. He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth;
He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers remained silent,
so He opened not His mouth.
Peter uses Isaiah 53 to teach Christ's humility.
1 Peter 2:
19
For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief,
suffering wrongfully.
20 For what credit is it if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently?
But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God.
21 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example,
that you should follow His steps:
22 Who committed no sin, nor was deceit found in His mouth;
23
who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not
threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously;
24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins,
might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.
25 For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and
Overseer of your souls.
