Potters clay is not the same as miry clay.
Potters clay: A species of earth which is firmly coherent, weighty, compact, and hard when dry; but stiff, sticky, can be drawn out when moist, and smooth to the touch, not readily diffusible in water, and when mixed, not readily subsiding in it. It can be molded into any shape; and therefore they are materials of bricks and various vessels.
Miry clay abounding with deep mud; water logged; full of mire, as, a miry road. Appears it cannot be used, molded or stretched, is water saturated, and grimy.
Dan.2:33, His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay. Ver.41, And whereas thou saw the feet and toes, part of potters clay, and part of iron, their kingdom shall be divided; BUT there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as you saw the iron mixed with miry clay.
The conjunction "But" meaning that which is removed, separated from others.
It appears that Daniel is speaking of two separate entities. Iron is the Roman Empire; iron with Potters clay hmmm not sure! And lastly iron mixed with miry clay, which is something that cannot be formed,is in confusion and divided.
Ver.43, And whereas you saw iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle (6151) themselves with the seed of men, BUT they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. It sounds like the Muslim people in the past and today, nomads for the most part, they living throughout the countries of the world, yet not mixing their religion, law, dress and culture.
Mingle here is, he, or it mixed, mingled, as light and darkness. The iron mixed with miry clay shall mingle themselves with the seed of men.
