City of Milwaukee considers banning company over KKK sticker, firearms displays
A Wisconsin construction company that employed workers who displayed a Ku Klux Klan sticker and openly brandished firearms in public last month could lose some pending contracts with Milwaukee worth nearly $1 million.

A panel of the Milwaukee Common Council on Thursday also considered permanently barring American Sewer Services from ever bidding on contracts and compelling the company's owner to testify before them. Votes on the resolutions are expected in two weeks.

Interesting article. And a conundrum. Milwaukee is entirely in its rights and purvue to keep its citizens safe, including from racists and overt signs of racism.

But the company also has an obligation to protect its employees safety and (to a degree) their personal freedom of expression. How they want to balance that out against the loss of contracts is entirely up to them.

What I wonder about was the workers' claim that they "felt unsafe" working in the black neighborhoods. I do not know if that was real or just made up to fit their agenda. But IMO no company should allow firearms at the worksite, no matter what the danger.
