Just because some of the early Church fathers believed that Mary may have sinned doesn't mean that they were right. The early Church fathers were not always correct being mere men. But that is what the Church is for. The Church is there to pray, study, and infallibly determine whether or not a particular early Church father was right on a particular matter. The Church (Magisterium) is infallible in defining dogmas, early Church fathers and even individual bishops are not.

The belief that Mary was a sinner, by means of original sin and/or sinful behavior, was widespread in early Christianity. It predates the view that Mary was sinless. The following are some examples of early denials, either directly or indirectly, that Mary was sinless.

<snip>

'All have sinned'.

Did not Mary come and try and get Jesus to come home, and the Apostle wrote, 'for even his own family did not believe him'? That right there is sin.

Of course she is a sinner, everyone sinned but Jesus.

That said, when people say this, I believe it deeply detracts from her. Mary is a woman of deep compassion and faith.

Admiration, okay... worship? No.

It is a good thing that we do not worship Mary than.
