Anecdotal stories are just that.
There seems to be more than a little that is questionable about this story. For instance, here we have the news release--

"The June 13-17 summer camp session did not require COVID-19 vaccinations or testing and did not mandate masks, and campers slept in groups of about 100 people in "large, shared boarding facilities..."

...By Aug. 13, the CDC had found 87 primary cases linked to the summer camp and 35 linked to the men's conference. Through contact tracing, the CDC identified 58 more secondary cases among close contacts of camp or conference attendees."

There was a two month interval between the opening of camp and the CDC findings. A significant number of cases were among people who had been earlier vaccinated, and yet the news article made a point of saying that no vaccinations had been required, as though that could have prevented the outbreak.

Indeed, how many of these cases owe to contacts between people prior to the opening of the camp? It's not as though this event was attended by people from all segments of society. One non-denominational church (with several near-by locations) hosted the event and recruited the attendees.

So the camp sessions started on August 13, but the CDC had found 87 cases by...August 13. (?) Not much chance of the camp having been the cause of those cases, then. Even more startling than that, the men's conference meeting that followed the conclusion of the camp is said to have caused another 35 cases diagnosed on August 13.

And then the CDC found additional, secondary, cases.

How many of these cases owe to contacts between people prior to the opening of the camp? It's not as though this event was attended by people from all segments of society.

So what do you consider suspect? That they were able to trace things so fast or that it took too long to trace?

You did see the link to a news report, or did you?

Or is your definition os an anecdotal story anything you don't like?
I know it’s real. But it’s still anecdotal. But the purpose of the thread makes this look like it’s a widespread issue. There are tons of churches meeting every week, unmasked. And without issue. That doesn’t make a good headline, though.

Why are unmasked group events considered super spreader events only based on one particular political leaning?

Hold a camp where everyone sleeps in large groups, where vaccination is not asked for, no one is tested or masked.

Guess what happened!

CDC: Church camp that didn't require vaccinations, masks linked to 180 COVID-19 cases (msn.com)

And to take it a step farther 6 men from that camp went to a similar men's conference to pass on the blessing oc covid-19!
At least they won't have to worry about the potential side effects of these vaccines. Plus it brings us even closer to herd immunity.

If you're trying to make light of this... it's no laughing matter.

"Overall, 1,127 people from at least four states were exposed to the coronavirus because they went to the camp or conference or were close contacts of people with camp or conference-associated cases."

"Of the 180 people with probable and confirmed cases of COVID-19, five had to be hospitalized. No one died. None of the vaccinated people who had breakthrough cases had to be hospitalized."

This seems like a success story. "No one died." Only 180 people out of 1127 actually got sick, and of those, some were just "probable" cases, which means they didn't get sick enough to bother getting tested. Not sure how many.

"The report showed, once again, that vaccinated people can spread COVID-19. Of the 122 people from the camp and conference who caught the illness, 18 were fully vaccinated. Eight close contacts of those 18 fully vaccinated people then got it, including four people who were fully vaccinated.

In all, there were 29 cases among fully vaccinated people."
It would interest me to know how many vaccinated people were there, compared to how many got infected.

"Of 31 infected people who had specimens sequenced, 87% had the delta variant."
It seems strange that there were two variants being transmitted at the camp. But perhaps it was a blessing, since no one died, and now lots of people have natural immunities!

Anecdotal stories are just that.
You're giving it a pass. You claim that if it can be proven you would accept it but here it's proven via an article and you call it "anecdotal" and then you give it a pass.
