After small portions of President Trump's speech to a rally has been deemed to be intended to "incite violence", it looks as if there are politicians on the other side who are guilty of actually making threats against SCOTUS justices if they don't vote his way:

The big question is if he will ever be held accountable for it if either of these justices suffer harm.

Yup. Schumer needs to tone down the rhetoric.
"Needs" to tone it down? That's it? The future majority leader of the Senate "needs to"...but when it comes to Trump, over 200 members of the House of Representatives intend to render him ineligible to hold public office for life????? And for saying something much less incendiary than Schumer's threat?

Some wonder about the unease that folks in the political middle feel when they contemplate such a
double standard. They shouldn't.

Nobody will question Schumer's suitability for office because not a Republican, and he's not Trump.

Those in society who are more centrist and taking a more neutral view of politics are already noticing the double-standard. When it manifests itself even more over the next 4 years, they will go to the polls. Actually, we only need to wait 2 years for that.

It's nice to see you have finally arrived at the "resist" stage of grief. Took democrats about as long 4 years ago.

How many people from Schumer's crowd stormed the Supreme Court and violently threatened Gorsuch and Kavanaugh?

None.

When Schumer gathers a huge crowd near the Supreme Court building, stirs them up with vitriol, and directs them to go to the building when the Supreme Court is doing something important, and the crowd riots, causes damage, and threatens the safety of the Supreme Court members... then we'll have something almost equivalent to talk about. Until then, we have a guy who needs to tone down his rhetoric.

Careful, you're reaching so hard for some kind of equivalence that you're going to fall over and hurt yourself.

The difference is that Trump made his comments in front of an armed mob that was about to go to the Capital building. Lots of politicians use absurd rhetoric. Context matters.

So...even if that were true, when he told everyone to be peaceful, which is what he did, this was a signal for them to be violent, eh? o_O

I've heard that claim made, but it only shows how the facts mean nothing to the people who are determined to destroy him in any way possible.

P.S. I'm also surprised that you seem not to know that the people who were listening to the speech (which delivered at some distance from the Capitol building, were not and could not have been the same people who invaded the Capitol.

Yeah I dont think the Trump speech itself, out of context, is so bad. Its everything up to that point that merits impeachment.

And Schumer needs to tone it down.

I think the mental gymnastics of those posts are kind of impressive. It must take some effort to come up with a narrative like that, don't you think? Maybe we should give credit where credit is due.

I’m in the middle and I don’t feel the least bit uneasy about your double standard.

And Schumer needs to tone it down.
He made those remarks back last spring, in March I think, and hasn't made any since that I know of. The Chief Justice pretty well took him down a peg or two at the time and he deserved it.

They just can’t accept the fact that Biden will be our duly elected president.
We’re seeing severe cases of BDS already and he hasn’t even been sworn in yet.
