I wonder why the bible was not put out in Chronological order when it was distributed in its popular form? It seems it would be much easier to study if it wasn't jumping around like it does.
You can buy chronological bibles. I have one but never really delved into it.

Because the ordering is based on Canonization (being received and being put into print in a Codex) and not exact age of the document (for books that existed as oral tradition prior to being written like Job and Genesis) . And Canonization is based on what is going on in the present with Israel or the NT Church as far as the needs, problems etc. of the moment rather than them thinking academically.

But their is a loose time element to the sequence of books. On average, older books do go before later ones etc.
