I just wanted to share an amazing nonprofit volunteering opportunity that I'm a part of. Besides being free, the best thing is that anyone can do it from anywhere!
It's called Hopeful Notes, and it's a PenPal program that reaches out to seniors living in residential facilities (nursing homes, assisted living, etc.) across the US. Many of them are lonely and rarely have contact with the outside world, so we like to give them hope and friendship through written letters. The team coordinates with staff members of the facilities to get the letters to the seniors.
