You may say...this means that or that means this.......however, here Jesus is requesting us to come to know the only true God (whose name is Jehovah).....and then also come to know the one who Jehovah sent forth (whose name is Jesus).

He is requesting us to come to know two individuals.

He wants us to know the ministry of the Son, which leads us to salvation... and the ministry of the Father, which leads us to God. You are sounding as though to say that Jesus isn't God. I take it you don't believe in the Trinity...?

I've explained it... but you offer no real rebuttal to the points I made. Re-read what I said with an open mind and respond again.

It sounds as though you would like me to get to know the trinity.

I prefer to follow Jesus' instructions and know the Father, who is Jehovah........and also know Jesus, the one whom Jehovah sent forth.

There is a difference in the two, that is why Jesus requests us to get to know both. It is obvious that he made a distinction between the two.

Jehovah is different from Jesus, once you learn more about him.

It seems as though some of the confussion is satan, being a lier and murderer from the begining, and lucifer being the apple of Gods eyes isn't being decerned here. I don't see satan and lucifer as one and the same.
