Singing makes ya feel so good. Strange how the memory can remember the words to some real oldies but not the new ones. Heck I can t even understand the words to some of the new ones. As for me, my pipes are getting rusty.
Don't worry about learning the new songs most of them aren't worth even listening to let alone learning what they say. Most of the songs are not even music, just screaming, but if you are by any chance meaning today's Christian music, that to has changed but to each his own.

Excuse me Bonnie but singing is aerobic exercise

Indeed 'singing' can exuberate
both your flesh and your spirit
the one with fresh oxygen and the second with renewed vigour for life

Please it has been proven

you find yourself a song that can really sing itself
something you can throw your heart into
and youre away

I have a good pair of lungs

as a lad I sang in the church choir
and later in secondary school (High School)
for the BIG BOYS

and me still 3ft something
Well I have seen some of them since (?)
lol if I had niffy armpits they would have a BO problem

I digress, so I was measured
and kicked into shape and sang soprano
eventually lol

not for long my voice broke:

saying "get off of me ow"

I took a place in the school choir
and was in the front row
when in came the royal wedded couple
for their schools concert

The Spacious Firmament On High

I even recall MOST the words
and I still sing it with fervour ( gusto)

mmmmmm its good for you
trust me
youll know how far you can go
and confidence will build

I dont know if this is the appropriate place to post this?
Hope it is not a distraction to the above conversation.

It is my favorite song "Ten Thousand Angels"
The link will take you to an Lyn Cooper Wensite with audio of the tune. Yo can click on the Recording with full lyrics version of the MP3.

It is a free download...http://songsofpraise.org/song.php?songid=24

I would like to post it on my homepage and blog but I havn't had tome to do it yet.

It might be too sad for some folks...but I find it uplifting as if the angels were putting their arms around me to heal my broken heart.

good morning it is 5:20 here in the morning and have been awake since 3 . so I did laundry and shortly after I got started the power went out and a few minutes later came back well then I had to start the computer again and the dryer for it does not restart itself ( darn that is work)
so I sit down and start to post a little and the power went out again and of course it is pitch dark so I struggle to get to the kitchen ( stumbling in the dark ,running into the walls ) to find a flash light to be able to find matches for the candles .only to have the lights come back on . great, so I restart the computer and reset the clocks again !!!! and get the dryer started again and make a cup of coffee for me and tea for my hubby and just settled down again at the computer to post a couple more and read and the POWER went out again. this time it lasted longer ,so I struggled to the kitchen in the dark to find the ( well you know where I am going with this ) so here I am exhausted now that I need to be getting up now and getting ready for work. so guess I better before they go out again. GOOD MORNING to all and may your day be blessed .

Good day! It is a lovely sunny day here, but still quite cold. If it turns out like yesterday, it will warm right up and melt even more snow. Starting to see gravel again in the laneway...Yahoo! spring is just around johnny...

Cheers,

Jim
Hey Jim even my 10ft. pile of snow is starting too come down==Yea!!! Now tomorrow night we're supposed to get rain changing over to snow, so spring might be a little way off but it's not as cold as it's been

Hello all! I thought I'd check in.

I'm 55 and still raising two teens. My husband and I have been married 35 years. We have five sons and one daughter. The oldest is 34.

And I love to sing--the golden oldies AND the newbies. But truth to tell, I love opera the most. Wish my voice was as good as the voices I listen to....

BTW, I loved "Ten Thousand Angels." Thank you Springrain!

Welcome. I don't have any teenagers anymore my youngest turned 20 in Dec. but I do have 3 adult children still living at home. Hubby and I been together since 1970. I also love to sing. I think we have a lot in common except I am not a big fan of opera. Jan

Thank you for being so warm and hospitable! How nice to talk to you!

Yeah, still two kiddos at home--and it was our own fault. When the last of the first four was half grown, my husband remarked, "Do you realize that in eight years we won't have any kids anymore?" We were at a romantic litte cafe, and his voice sounded almost sad. We looked at each other and said, "We can't have that!" So we went home and did something about it.

And we couldn't just have ONE. Because everyone knows that two are easier than one, maybe not at first, but eventually! :)

On to opera. Yeah, I didn't think I liked opera that much either, until I got one of those "best of" CDs and started listening to it. I admit, I like the male voices the best, too. Currently one of my favorites is Georges Bizet's "Les Pecheurs de Perles," (The Pearl Fishers). The male voices in Act I, "Au fond du temple saint," are just amazing. I just melt inside. And I wish my french was better!

I admit! One of the reasons I fell in love with my huband when he was courting me is that he has this lovely baritone voice. He still melts me. (sigh)

it is so good to hear that someone is still in love with their husband after all these years, bless you and the Lord will honor that.

Jim, If you are disappointed in how much snow you received, I would be more than happy to share some of my 2 feet and more. They tell us it is to get into the 40's by midweek. It is going to take a long time to melt the snow. I agree, when I get up and see no snow, that will be a happy day!

Jim, Wasn't sure where you are at. I take it that you don't want me to send you any of my snow.

Let's see Colorado got hit with heavy snows early on as well as the Pacific northwest and New York. Now the middle of the U.S. At least some of Canada has enough.

Let's pray that all this snow (and rains) helps to ease the drought coniditions that have been prevalent for so long in many areas.
