In Matthew 22:23-30, Jesus is questioned by members of a sect called the Sadducees:
The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him, Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed to his brother.

They attempt to make a mockery of the resurrection using the Law of Moses by concocting a strange scenario. In this example, the oldest of seven sons died leaving no heir. Ultimately all seven brothers have his widow. Finally they ask this question as their punch line:

Therefore in the resurrection whose wife will she be of the seven? for they all had her.

Jesus replies and cuts right through their feeble attempt.

Matthew 22:29. Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

Luke 20:35,36. But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage;neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.

We don't know that much about what our relationship to each other will be in the kingdom of God. What we do know is that there will be no "gender distractions." All eyes will be on the Bridegroom.

1 Corinthians 2:9. But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.
