I dont like the pretzel dogs, my husband does, I'll have one, beats a roll, but I like the pretzels themselves ^_^
Wow. I had three! Spread over the afternoon lol.
Used those sausage grillers and I brushed eggwhite over all
after the baptism of baking soda water, added the kosher salt
and baked it at 400 for about 9 or 10 minutes.

Next time I'll eat my veggies first because these things are great lol.
Also added a bit of water to the bread dough and next time I'll start
with less flour. I don't have an electric mixer/dough hook..

OH, and I brushed them w/ melted butter after baking and added more salt.
Thanks for the recipe Firecritter!

Can't wait to try more things with that dough.
Next time I'm doubling the recipe :)
My guys loved them!
:yum::yum::yum::yum:

Would white wine work?

I dont know sun. I used red, but I dont know what effect (if any) whether adverse (or otherwise) using a different one (than what the recipe calls for). You got me there sis.

If you try it though, tell me whether it affects it, but if its awful how will you know whether its good? ^_^

Good question, maybe someone else could tell whether it would be ok, I have improvised in that area yet to know whether it would work or not.

It would seem not, throw in food coloring (red) see if helps ^_^

Kidding, I dont know, you trying it?

Well I am seriously jonesin for this soup
I was thinking about it!
I have the four onions.. I have some wine that's going
and some fresh wine that needs coloring lol.
I'm low on mozzarella (used it in the Lasagna soup)
So no, not tomorrow but asap.

(Roads here are a skating rink and I have a dinner party
Wednesday, I'm making that strawberry dessert with the
cream cheese and pretzel crust ...did I post that?)

Do you have baking dishes you use?
I have some ramekins but that's it ..
Maybe I better get me some nice crocks?

Nope just two crocks for two, hubby loves french onion soup. I dont do dinner parties, everyone we know is up north besides.

I just pulled the rest of your soup out of the freezer, Im having that tommorrow:thumbsup:

That sounds interesting, strawberry cream cheese and pretzel crust? I would have probrobly chose crescent for that, but I dont know what it is your making but I sure wouldnt have thought lol

Post that recipe sometime sis:thumbsup:

And no, I dont have fancy baking dishes, we are sorta paper plate people, except no paper for the soup (obviously) and because I have always hated doing the dishes, so the less of those I have to do the better (my life) lol

Let me know how it turns out, but I wouldnt skimp on the cheese (more rather then less) in onion soup.

Now that looks incredible and so worth trying, I like salty and sweet too, but thought it was some kind of a shortcake and you were doing substitutions and was thinking soft pretzel crust lol

Let me know how that one goes, because man does that look good, put cream cheese in it and Im there:thumbsup:

What a unique combination

The recipe is found here if ever interested

Two Tiny Kitchens

Always sorta one of those things where you get a hankering for peanut butter and chocolate and dont really when to drive to the store.

"What a friend we have in cheeses"
I saw that on a bumpersticker in Wisconson.

You guys, I gotta tell everybody how full of good cooking I am right now. My wife made some pork chops & mashed potatoes with some gravy to die for. I was so glad there was some leftovers for me today. It even tastes good cold. I am truly blessed.

OK,... I asked her what makes her gravy so good.
She says she usedthe meat drippings.
That's it.
She didn't use spices at all, she just has the right touch & uses real, fresh ingredients. I'm addicted. Most of her stuff is better than restaurant food. We realy have to go somewhere special to feel like get our money's worth. lol
