New York City has reportedly agreed to pay $40 million to settle with five men who were falsely convicted of the 1989 rape and beating of a jogger in Central Park, a case that drew national attention.

The five black and Hispanic defendants, who became known as "The Central Park Five," were found guilty in 1990 as teenagers for the attack on a white woman. They served from six to 12 years before their convictions were overturned in 2002 when evidence came to light that another, lone perpetrator was responsible.

Here's the way Christians that believe in Christ (for real) are instructed about how to judge actions:
John 7:24 Stop judging by outward appearances, and start judging justly."

But one has to actually believe in order to take Christ's instructions seriously.

If a person only pays lip service and does not believe, then they will not take Christ's instructions very seriously.

Someone that doesn't believe will then often enough condemn others and demand their punishment, and such, on superficial appearances. As we know has happened at times from a certain famous politician.

Make sense?
