Six of one, half dozen of the other.
Catholics insist requiring priests be single is not forbidding them to marry.

no, not even close to the same thing...

in any event, I just notice a lack of links to prove this point. And then I notice an attempt to make it seem "equivalent" in magnitude when so far to me it doesn't seem so.

I make this point all the time. The human brain is hardwired to find patterns and see symmetry in everything. Black White Up Down Hot Cold... the human brain loves symmetry.

however, in human dealings, sometimes there is no symmetry. And in the case of the GOP vs Dems wrongs... There are some instances and subjects where Dems have completely screwed the pouch however that is not equal and opposite to mistakes of the GOP.

Similarly, there are some things in which the GOP is wrong about with greater magnitude than what the Dems are wrong about.

Right now, we are witnessing a staggering amount of Political Asymmetry. Right now, in this moment in time, the GOP is messing up and doing wrong with a greater level of magnitude than the Dems.

History will not look kindly at the GOP party circa 2003 to 2017

Yeh, it is. I do agree that the claim of these seven words being somehow unprecedented came without corroboration. That's why I called it a nothingburger. Indeed, the government has since said that the claim about the seven words was itself erroneous reporting, so this whole thing probably is literally much ado about nothing. :)

You have my sympathy.
Anyone who thinks that at the end if the day, party politics us more than a distraction from the greater hydraulics of raw power,... is lost in the forest I think.

Yes, it was. This nothingburger of a make-believe outrage turns entirely on it being associated with the Trump administration.

I don't buy into identity politics so I wouldn't care if it was the Trump administration, the Obama administration, or the Bush administration.

Word ban at CDC includes 'vulnerable,' 'fetus,' 'transgender' - CNN
Trump administration reportedly prohibits CDC from using words like 'transgender,' 'fetus'

The banned words include: vulnerable, entitlement, diversity, transgender, fetus, science-based, evidence-based.

From the Fox News article "The analyst told the paper that they 'could not recall a previous time when words were banned from budget documents" due to ideology.'"

This something directly out of a dystopian novel at this point, and as a doctorate student is completely and utterly incredulous, and nothing short of tyrannical. This administration is now trying to dictate science and knowledge, which is wrong on so many levels. Sure, they were given a list of "alternate words", bu this is still nothing short of them attempting to shut down an ideology and worldview that not only does not fit but challenges theirs, and trying to push only their own on everyone else.
I guess if those words are banned . Trump and people involved in the ban .Thinks those problems will go away.

I knew this story was crap when I first saw the thread. Trump haters will instantly fall for anything:

CDC director says there are ‘no banned words’ at the agency

"U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention director Dr. Brenda Fitzgerald on Sunday addressed a report that President Donald Trump’s administration had banned the CDC from using seven words or phrases in next year’s budget documents.

But Fitzgerald said in a series of tweets on Sunday said there are “no banned words,” while emphasizing the agency’s commitment to data-driven science."
