That depends on how you count the number of people who died of self inflected means because they could not handle the isolation, sorrow and fear.

Yes, there are some deaths due to isolation and fear of going to the hospital so that should be figured in. Sadly though, deaths are quite a bit above average.

So it is ok to base statistics on assumptions instead of facts, wow how convenient.

The problem, and we've always known this was going to be an issue, is that until we can compare actual overall mortality rates during the coronavirus pandemic with previous years mortality rates, we won't have a good picture of the mortality rates for the virus.

The Spanish flu was the same, that flu could, and did, decimate populations, one town in Alaska only had two residents survive the Spanish flu outbreak there... but for actual mortality rates, you had to wait and see the mortality spikes that the outbreak caused to make a more accurate determination.

So right now it really is all speculative until we can start making month to month and year to year comparisons.

In reading your supplied 'evidence', I didn't find any reference to actual statements or reports that the CDC was doing what the article heading charges. The article just makes the claim that the CDC is not reporting Covid 19 deaths accurately and just basically leaves that statement standing out there.

So, I clicked on the link to the CDC memo from which the article claims to have gleaned its 'fact'. The CDC memo doesn't say what the article charges. It is a memo explaining that a new code was being instituted so that the CDC could follow Covid 19 deaths. There are some questions about what to do in certain cases and the memo does say that if Covid 19 is suspected, but not proven, that the death certificate should be coded with the Covid 19 code.

However, there isn't any claim as to 'how many' death certificates might fall into this category and so there really isn't anyway to know that such coding is skewing the numbers appreciably. Now, anyone is free to claim that this pandemic is all a hoax. Many seem to be making the claim that the federal government, or the left liberals, or the deep state, or the ghost of Christmas past, is supporting this hoax to be able to 'takeover' our government. I find that to be a fairly ludicrous expectation when we see that the entire world has somehow found it beneficial to support some claim that our nation has created to takeover our own government. Come on man! Really?????

I don't know that we did miss it.

It was made amply clear that the more times a hospital decreed that death occurred because of Covid-19, the more government money would flow into that hospital in response.

Various medical authorities said openly that no matter what caused the death, if there was even the possibility that Covid-19 was present at the same time, the orders were to list the virus as the cause.

Just so everyone considers both sides of the argument:

The claim made that:

Needs some evidentiary support in light of their also being 'ample' evidence that such a thing does not, in reality, exist. Hospitals, according to the above referenced report, do receive more money for 'treating' a Covid 19 patient because it costs more, just in safe guards for the nurses and doctors, and facilities, to treat the disease. Hospitals are paid a 20% premium over what standard respiratory treatment costs.

The point being, that if someone goes into the hospital with severe asthma or COPD, they are treated by nurses and doctors who don't have to 'gear up' to visit the patient. The ward doesn't have to be specially filtered to prevent air being transferred throughout the facility. These efforts cost more money to support than the average 'respiratory treatment' services.

However, there doesn't seem to be any evidence that hospitals receive some 'bounty' for each person who dies of the disease.

Just thought I'd make sure everyone had an opportunity to digest 'all' of the information on the subject.
