Do humans cause prayers? Can humans cause prayers? Who causes prayer? What does God's word say?

Romans 8:26 "In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans."

Doesn't God's word say, "We do not know what we ought to pray for". If so, isn't it false to claim humans cause prayers?

When Lord told to pray, and His disciples failed to pray, isn't the Lord driving home the truth that no humans can cause prayer?

In light of the above, doesn't it then fail to make sense to think humans can cause prayers just because Lord told to pray?

Why not we then admit saying, "Lord You alone causes prayers through us and for us"? Wouldn't such an admission signify our trust in the Lord rather than in the act of prayers?

If I count this right... It's nine more (one-liner) questions that makes no sense. None of these questions have anything to do with Word of Faith beliefs. Please consider moving on to an area where you actually fit it. Thank You!

We don't know what your version of the truth is here, so here's mine.

Romans 8:26
"Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered."
Paul described what these infirmities are when he said, “For we know not what we should pray for as we ought.” The infirmities this scripture is speaking of are the weaknesses that come from (not knowing) how we should pray.

In (John 11:33) and (38), Jesus actually groaned in the Spirit twice. This is the exact terminology that is used here in (Romans 8:26), it is plain to see that no words were uttered. It was exactly as the Scripture states, a groaning in the Spirit.

And, why is he still here?

If according to Romans 8:26, none doesn't know what to pray for, can it be claimed that humans cause prayer?

We need to read before and after.. never run with one verse. It means just what He said. There are many times I dont know what to pray for.. There are many times I do know. The word makes it very clear on some things we should be praying for every day. Never once needed to ask Him..we are ONE in the spirit..

Always read before and after

So verses contradict each other?

Do humans cause prayers?

Absoultely. Jesus told us to pray, Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Matt 7:7

Romans 8:26 "In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans."

That scripture doesn't mean that we don't know all together what to pray. Even getting saved you pray the sinners prayer based on the word of Rom 10:10. We know a lot of things to pray for. Jesus even taught us to pray for our daily bread or provision so how can that mean we don't know anything to pray for .

Rom 8 was more talking about intercession for others and we don't always know what's going on in their lives so we pray in the Spirit. If one rejects praying in tongues which is praying in the spirit, which your mind is unfruitful at just what you're praying BUT God does, HE KNOWS what needs to be prayed for for others.

I like that Blade... "we are ONE in the spirit." Our spirit is totally redeemed. Our soul is being redeemed, and our flesh WILL be redeemed on that day Jesus returns... as for now, if all of the Body of Christ would just continue to have our minds renewed daily by the Word of God, then... our soul (mind, will, and emotions) will more line up in unity as we walk in the spirit and denying the flesh.

Romans 12:2
"And be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."

Carry on, Sir...

Praying in the Spirit requires little Faith as well.
When you lose your mind ,and the Holy Spirit gives the utterance you have the blessing of knowing your prayer is in the will of God according to his promises.

Rom8:26:"for we do not know how to pray as we ought".
Does the above verse say we know how to pray in some matters?

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Matt 7:7
Does this verse say you cause prayers?
