That is a fair point. I do think, personally, that modern Catholic fasting/abstinence practices are generally too lax. I'm not sure I could go that far, though. I should probably have a fasting rule nailed down in this story, probably something partway between that and the current Eastern rule.

well, the Fast is not a hard line rule, it's always something pastorally applied. 'tis something to work out with your priest
