Communing and sharing the Eucharist with people of other Churches that do not believe as we do.
Oh, that has no sense. Maybe Germans have a good intention, but it does not help.

Jesus sat down with the unclean, the pharasies, the scribes etc. so what is the problem????

There are several issues at stake related to this topic. One: it deceives ignorant people to recieve the most precious body and blood of our savior in a state of ignorant sinfulness as we are to confess our sins at least once a year. Two and related to number one: it treats theology as it's of no significance at all. What we believe about God, Mariology, hagiography, ecclesiology and so forth makes no difference. To allow for outsiders to commune in our churches is to applaud religious syncretism and indifference. In the traditional catholic language its reffered to as causing great scandal. Thirdly: it treats Catholics themselves as second class citizens as we're still under the obligation to recieve the sacrament of confession prior to communion. We are as children of holy mother church treated as stepchildren which is indeed to neglect the very motherhood of the church.
Besides it will further downplay orthodox beliefs in favor of heterodoxy and it will trivialize confession and the importance of repentance in the life of the church. Our hamartiology will be reduced to a shaddow of it former self - and in my opinion this will in turn influence other parts of our theology. Systematic theology is based on the internal logic of each part that makes up the theological web. Remove some parts and others will make no sense. Theology is constructed as a house of cards you know. Remove one and others who rely upon that particular card will in turn collapse.

That hardly means He condoned their errors. He pointed them to the correct way.

This is indeed the very error of ecumenism and why it should still be considered heresy. The very idea of ecumenism originated from the branch of liberation theology and is driven by a vision of progress. This is as the church so clearly remarked prior to Vatican ii a grave distortion of truth and the culmination of modernism- which is itself the synthesis of all heresies.

Um.. I was agreeing with you. The Jesus hung out with sinners thing is distorted and misses the point the way people use it as a defense.

I know, it was intended to be more of a supplement than an argument :)

Well, Jesus was presented with an adulterer who was about to be stoned. And what did he say to her? "Neither do I condemn you" which is where the contemporary analysis stops, concluding that Jesus says anything and everything is OK. But they conveniently forget about the rest of what Jesus had to say. "Go, and from now on sin no more." Everything is NOT equal.
